Today's Football
Five matches in the PL, the pick of which looks to be the North London derby Arsenal v Spurs at 2 oclock.
Could do with Sheff United getting a bit of a tonking at home to Toon later.
Currenly Stoke 1 Hull 3 in the Championship.

Re: Today's Football
Twine is on as a 65th minute sub in that Stoke v Hull game; was 2-0 to Hull when he came on (3-1 full time).
I'm looking forward to the north London derby, usually quite a lot of incidents in that and maybe a surprise today? No Kane for spuds obviously and Richarlison on the bench to start with.
I fancy Villa to win at Chelsea (3/1 at my bookie's). Hopefully Newcastle players will have recovered from their exertions in Italy and give Blades a beating.

Re: Today's Football
Yes, seems strange a NL derby without Kane being involved, but Spurs seem to be coping rather well.
Re: Today's Football
Popcorn at the ready then. This isn’t going to end well.
Why have they given him the most high profile game after the pigs ear he made of the game on Monday? Surely, they can’t feel that he had a good game? Can they?

Thought he would do well there but it appears the manager doesn’t know where to play him.
Heard he played left wing a few times but it hasn’t suited him.

Spurs not finding it easy to pass through Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if Maddison has much of an influence on the game after bossing it against us.

Re: Today's Football
Surprised it’s been credited to Saka. His shot looked to be heading wide.

Re: Today's Football
Re the Arsenal goal: both BBC and Fantasy Football credited to Saka initially but both then called it an OG with just the assist for Saka- the right outcome.
Makems v Cardiff kicking off shortly, I expected Cardiff to be struggling at the bottom this season but they're in the top half currently, it'll test their mettle at the SoL this aft though.

Re: Today's Football
Peno check....100% more blatant than ours against Forest. Has to be given. (Although ours wasn't a penalty of course)
Given.

Can't believe how cocky the ref looks when he walks back giving the pen.

Gary Nev saying no pen as his hand isn’t that high but the ball was going into the net. That isn’t always taken into account but should be.

Re: Today's Football
I genuinely don’t get what the defender is supposed to do there.
A player smashes it against another player. It deflects upwards and hits a defenders arm.
Is he just not supposed to have arms

Re: Today's Football
Why was Saka not booked after going into the crowd celebrating his penalty?

Did they not change the rule on that, so that if the ball is going in it’s handball regardless of whether it’s deliberate or not?Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 3:14 pmGary Nev saying no pen as his hand isn’t that high but the ball was going into the net. So many rules no one has any idea about anymore purely to try and make VAR work. Scrap it.

Bournemouth without a win in 10 Prem games going to the back of last season too.

Re: Today's Football
Glad it was given and I thought Neville was talking boll..cks. It was more blatant than when Berge laid on the winner for Foster the other night and it was judged to be handball. Neville said it was natural for his hand going up-the other hand did not though. Funnty that. Neville was so convinced it would be disallowedTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 3:14 pmGary Nev saying no pen as his hand isn’t that high but the ball was going into the net.
