Re: Ticket exchange
I’ve never used it but I’ve just checked and it does seem that it’s only available for the next match
Re: Ticket exchange
ok thanks tony , ill email the club
Re: Ticket exchange
Beware, if you use it...
I couldn't make the Man Utd game, and intended to give my tickets away.
I thought I'd have a look, out of curiosity, how the Ticket Exchange worked.
If you go into the exchange process, it 'completes' (ie takes the tickets off you) before any confirmation. (So only go into the process if you definitely want to sell the tickets back.)

Re: Ticket exchange
Good luck Paul - I returned both my Man City and Man Utd tickets as I was overseas. Neither were bought on the scheme - maybe they knew I sit next to TYBFC

Re: Ticket exchange
You can easily undo the exchange, unless they sell before you change your mind.Leon_C wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 3:41 pmBeware, if you use it...

Re: Ticket exchange
family stand next to back row ,theres only 1 ticket for each game
Re: Ticket exchange
leisure ...i renewed my ticket knowing i would be abroad for at least 8 games , its just the way it is , i might as well try and get something for them to put towards next years renewals , as for as giving them to mates they should already have their own tickets if they really care about the club
Re: Ticket exchange
flixton ...the fact that your next to ty probably did effect the selling of the ticket , i gave mine for man u game back on the scheme 3 days before and it re sold !!!!
ps hope your well
ps hope your well
Re: Ticket exchange
The club apparently sent an email to season ticket holders who didn't attend the Man U game and didn't put their tickets up for exchange. The email asked for reason of non attendance.

Re: Ticket exchange
Yes all good mate - been a mad few months - the old girl was 60 so been away in Paris and Marbella for holiday. Youngest daughter getting married in November too which means I’ll miss WHU. Train booked for Arsenal - roll on December !!
Re: Ticket exchange
It only shows them as available to return about a month before the match. I knew I would be working for the Palace and Wesr Ham games a month ago so have been keeping an eye on it and was only able to return the Palace ticket on Thursday.
I imagine they do it intentionally so people don’t return them 3 months in advance and then complain when the match gets moved for television or due to European scheduling but are unable to “claim them back” as they had already resold.
I managed to list and sell my Villa ticket at about 7am on the day of the day of the game and it still re-sold

Re: Ticket exchange
Yup. Mine was used by a pal. I missed it due to health reasons, but the ticket didn't bloody scan properly apparently. Same pal used it Saturday as i was at a wedding, and had to get a ticket printed by the ticket office

Re: Ticket exchange
The club buy the ticket back from you at st price and charge you an admin fee. They then sell them at full price. You only receive anything back if they’re sold again.

Re: Ticket exchange
The club emailed me today about my non attendance at the Chelsea game, asking me whether I was aware of the ticket exchange scheme. Strange thing is I attended the game and used my season ticket! Weird.
Also does anybody know whether there's a facility to exchange family tickets without ringing up? I have two sons who occasionally can't attend, and if I could exchange their tickets too that would be three in a row for somebody. As it is, I only seem to be able to exchange my own ticket on the app.

Re: Ticket exchange
I don't mind doing the exchange (just have done) but in that circumstance I would be inclined to tell them to mind their own business.

Thanks for the info. So you get around £25 back?Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 4:23 pmThe club buy the ticket back from you at st price and charge you an admin fee. They then sell them at full price. You only receive anything back if they’re sold again.
Re: Ticket exchange
I too had an email regarding my none attendance at the Chelsea game. Was I aware of the sell back scheme? Absolutely I am and that I'm not allowed to use it as I am one of the second class citizens that uses the Cricket Field Stand. You'd think they'd have that information...

Re: Ticket exchange
I have had an email exchange with Chris Parkinson at the club - I'm sure he wouldn't mind me quoting his response here: "The reason we haven’t allowed the Barnfield is because of spectator safety that has come from the Ground safety team. They don’t want any match by match buyers in this area, they want it to be purely season ticket holders. This is something we’re monitoring and in dialogue about and I’m hoping we can organise something soon that will allow this to be an option."ac99 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 11:49 amI too had an email regarding my none attendance at the Chelsea game. My answer was - "I would just reiterate the point that people are swapping / selling tickets all the time - we see it often around us - and the club have no idea who is taking those tickets. Under the club-run exchange scheme, this wouldn't be the case so should make things better for the safety team!"
I have also asked for this to be raised at the "fans forum" or whatever its called!
Re: Ticket exchange
Depends where you sit, didn't the club say you got back the equivalent to what you pay per game for your season ticket? Then they take away an admin fee from your pice too.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 8:36 pmThanks for the info. So you get around £25 back?

Re: Ticket exchange
'Admin fee' on a supposedly automated system.
Re: Ticket exchange
I understand an 'admin fee' when you're asking them to reprocess your ticket. It's fair enough.
What I don't understand (changing the subject, I know) is Reel Cinema charging a 'booking fee' via their own website!
Re: Ticket exchange
When I used it (somewhat inadvertently) there were two games in the scheme. United and Chelski.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 2:20 pmI’ve never used it but I’ve just checked and it does seem that it’s only available for the next match

Re: Ticket exchange
I’ve just looked again and it’s just showing Palace and it’s got the word BOOKED at the bottom. What does that mean?
Re: Ticket exchange
Mine also says "Booked" - which I guess is the term they randomly used to mean you had a ticket.
(What happens in many such circumstances, is that a software developer comes up with terms like "booked", that are never actually sense-checked by anybody involved in actual service design or user experience.)

Re: Ticket exchange
As long as it doesn’t mean I’ve offered mine for exchange.Leon_C wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 7:52 pmMine also says "Booked" - which I guess is the term they randomly used to mean you had a ticket.

Re: Ticket exchange
No - My Palace tickets say "Booked" and I've definitely not exchanged mine!
But - to emphasise - as per my earlier warning, beware about going into that process to see what happens...

Re: Ticket exchange
No worries, about that for mine and about £6 for my sons u22 ticket. Only done it once for Spurs and had no contact or money so I’m guessing they didn’t get re-sold.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 8:36 pmThanks for the info. So you get around £25 back?
Re: Ticket exchange
There are plenty of WhatsApp groups... And other online groups who will buy your tickets without any admin feeHoltyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 4:36 pmNo worries, about that for mine and about £6 for my sons u22 ticket. Re: Ticket exchange
I thought you meant some “third party tout” group
Tbh if I’m unable to attend I usually offer my ticket to a mate for free anyway

Re: Ticket exchange
I'd never go anywhere near a tout
These groups are well organised burnley fans who assist each other with travel to games, and if someone Carnt attend games they give away or sell tickets to each other. A bit like you or I do, but with a bigger audience

Re: Ticket exchange
Just a heads up.
I tried to spend the credit from a returned ticket on a shirt today for the lad in the club shop.
I haven't linked the accounts online but presumed like in the past, if I take my ST down with me the club shop staff would be able to sort it out. But they weren't.
They referred me to the ticket office to sort out, I didn't have time for that so will have to try and sort online later.
Just putting on here to save a wasted journey, if anyone is in the same boat.
