Burnley Library Project Update

Post by Rodleydave » Thu Oct 12, 2023 1:22 pm

A project manager has now been appointed and began work this week.
A whole range of equipment, shelving, display cases etc, has been ordered.
The mountain of 'stuff' to sort grows.
Items have been sent from as far away as Dorset and Essex.
Local supporters who wish to donate items can just drop it in downstairs.
Not programmes as we have almost a complete collection from the 50s.
But programmes pre 1950s welcome.
Scrapbooks, diaries... biogs, autobiogs of all football clubs and players.
DVDs...framed pictures...framed shirts...
Magazines... Goal... Shoot... Charles Buchan... annuals... commemorative souvenir newspapers...
photographs...
When fully sorted and up and running this will be a real community asset available to a number of groups, plus any supporters who want to come and browse, read, study, write or just have a warm in winter.
Special thanks to Barry Kilby, Mike Garlick and Mark Griffiths who made large financial donations to fund the project along with Friends of Lancashire Archives.
