Re: Team v Palace
Got a feeling Foster , Cork and Muric will start the rest of the team is anyone's guess.
Re: Team v Palace
Foster won’t be seen until after the international break according to Vinny. Huge blow.
Also Muric won’t be available vs Arsenal as Kosovo v Israel is being played 2 days later.

Re: Team v Palace
We're ****** then, frankly.
Re: Team v Palace
Better news, sounds like Beyer could be available.
Re: Team v Palace
A good chunk of the season with Rodriguez as our only striker. And before anyone says it - Amdouni isn't one. It's going to need to be some swansong from Jay.
Re: Team v Palace
Must be one heck of an ‘illness” to keep Foster out for so long. Time to start planning for next season. Might as well bring Mellon back and give him a run. Can’t do any worse than current strikers and don’t forget the turnaround in form when Dwight got his chance

Never mind. Just realised it’s the game that got postponed
Re: Team v Palace
Changing my team based on the latest news. Probably see Trafford start again given Muric won’t be available anyway next week.

Re: Team v Palace
Foster could be in isolation if he’s had a virus so the rest of the squad don’t get it, based on kompanys press conference if muric is missing for arsenal there’s no way he starts tomorrow so team for tomorrow

I think it comes from me initially thinking of selecting both Muric and Trafford to start

With Eze and Olise possibly missing this game for Palace and Foster being ruled out for us, it sounds like it could be a game of Blankety Blank.

If we actually manage to keep a clean sheet I’d be delighted. Right now I’d happily settle for a 0-0.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 10:52 amWith Eze and Olise possibly missing this game for Palace and Foster being ruled out for us, it sounds like it could be a game of Blankety Blank.
Re: Team v Palace
Not sure what have I done to deserve this comment. He has openly talked about mental struggles earlier this season and someone on this board wrote that he heard he's unfortunately having the same problems again. Kompany said he maybe won't even be available after the international break. He definitely doesn't have a flu.
Re: Team v Palace
I hope foster is okay but jeez it leaves us very short of options. Makes the decision not to sacrifice some of the wingers we bought to make sure we got Tella even more crazy, appreciate Southampton might have been playing silly beggars but still frustrating as I think he'd have done well.

Foster will be a HUGE miss.
Re: Team v Palace
Are there any decent strikers out of contact that we can sign, is that allowed? Desperate times, we've not looked like scoring really since foster has been out
Re: Team v Palace
Must be right if one person on here mentioned it.ervi34 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 11:10 amNot sure what have I done to deserve this comment. Thanks Pickles. If Cork don’t play, he must be wondering what the hell do I have to do?

Where’s the 5 weeks come from? If he’s back after the international break he’ll have missed 2 weeks. Granted there have been 4 games in that time, but nonetheless it’s not 5 weeks.

Out of interest, I know nothing official on illness-injury etc due to confidentiality. But can they say how long such ailments are estimated to be?
I haven’t been keeping track on timelines if anything has been reported?

Re: Team v Palace
Well obviously I don't know if they are true or not and probably only people close to Foster know what the exact issue is. I just pointed out that there were some rumours going around a few days ago and he openly expressed he had similar problems earlier this year. Not sure what your issue with me is.
He's already been missing for a week. He will also miss the next week. Then there's two weeks before the next PL game. If he doesn't return against West Ham (which Kompany said could be possible), his next league game could be in December against Sheffield United.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 11:44 amWhere’s the 5 weeks come from? Re: Team v Palace
Eze and Ollise back in training but a bit early for them to feature-thats the only bit of good news
Foster out is a massive, massive blow. The thought of Jay leading the line again does not fill me with confidence, and Amdouini is just not a natural striker, or ever in a poachers position. I cannot believe there is not a striker out of contract we could have brought in on a short contract. This is absolute desperate stuff and you cannot imagine seeing Sheff Utd or Luton being without a striker even with an injury crisis

Whoever plays number 9, if it’s Jay for Zeki they need to play on the last man, we can’t have them dropping deep into the false 9 role it’s making it to easy for teams to defend against, we don’t have a player with tellas pace and technical ability to have our number 9 dropping so deep

Re: Team v Palace
Haven’t watched the press conference so all I can go off is what is reported on the club page report, which makes no reference to potentially missing the WHU game. Fair enough if he does, but a quick scan doesn’t pick that up.ervi34 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 11:50 amWell obviously I don't know if they are true or not and probably only people close to Foster know what the exact issue is. It’s only dropping deep to help in transition before attacking the box - if we’re in their half you want him in the box

Re: Team v Palace
Having heard about Foster would go
Muric or Trafford
Roberts Beyer Al Dakhill Taylor
Brownhill Cork
Larson Berge Redmond
Amdouini
Berge to play as an advanced CM. Would not play Odobert or Koleosho as their end product is poor and with no Foster both would be unproductive

Re: Team v Palace
Yep that's us knackered.
Amdouni can't play lone striker he'd need a partner to sit on the shoulder of like Ings/Vokes, Vydra/Wood, Cornet/Wood.
Jay's knackered.
Brun Larsen might be able to convert but it's a gamble and he lacks the pace.
Koleosho might be able to convert as he's got the pace and technique, but he's not a natural finisher and at his age it's a huge ask to be the central striker.
More and more wishing we'd signed Tella. Or even kept Weghorst.
