If VK gets potted who would you have?
****Theoretically in case the cry babies start throwing insults about.
Hassenhutl has done a job at this level with limited funds. Could do a job with us organise the defence and get a few new ones in January.
Could they tempt Redknapp out of retirement, worked well with younger players at spurs.
There’s my two suggestions.

Glad you came with statistics that actually mean something.

The 9-0 scoreline was mainly referenced to counter act your "organise a defence" statement.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:42 pmFerguson got pumped 6-1 by Man City means nothing in isolation.

If we're gonna sack a manager cos he's only got us 4 pts this season lets not replace him with a manager who's team also has only 4 pts this season

I’m sure I saw Dean West knocking around outside the Bob Lord Stand yesterday. It would be a left field choice and a bit of a gamble but he knows the club.

Is that Brian?
Re: If VK gets potted who would you have?
The problem with earnestly engaging with the question even as a hypothetical is that there's a corner of your brain that attempts to justify your decision by accepting that sacking Kompany makes sense, that the manager situation is a problem in need of a solution, and not the completely stupid decision that it actually would be.
Hypothetically, if you deliberately chopped off your hand, would you want a prosthetic, or a hook? Would you wear a glove on it if you were wearing a glove on the other hand? What does that say about gloves? that they are as much form as they are function? Would a hook be classed as a weapon? When does a tool become a weapon? Is that not a matter of interpretation? If a weapon is used to a utilitarian end, does it cease to be a weapon and become a tool? Is utilitarianism a worthwhile way of interpreting events and making ethical decisions? Is it just? If you're on the wrong side, the side that loses out in service of utilitarian ends, it probably wouldn't feel very just.
...or how about just not chopping off the hand in the first place?

It wouldn't matter who we got unless they were strong enough to change the ways, the owners want to do things.
They have gone too extreme in football terms to try to make a lot of money, quickly.

Maybe Brian Laws deserves another crack at the whip...
Re: If VK gets potted who would you have?
What does going "too extreme in football terms" mean? Making too many changes in too short a time is a legit criticism, but that's ancient history now. We are where we are. Is this desire to sack Kompany coming from a place of wanting a punishment to be done for the mistake? If it's punishment people want then people aren't thinking clearly.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:21 pmIt wouldn't matter who we got unless they were strong enough to change the ways, the owners want to do things.

It won’t matter who we get in unless we can sign a genuine ball winning midfielder and a couple of strikers

Actually if Paul Jewell fancies it, he can have the pleasure of beating his Derby record low points total with Burnley!

Re: If VK gets potted who would you have?
If it is, he's at it every single day
Re: If VK gets potted who would you have?
So we want to become Watford and just sack managers after a few bad results?
Just ignore everything he’s built and achieved since walking through the door, forget how he’s elevated the club and brought some special footballers here. Forget the loyalty he showed the club in the summer. Forget the players who want him here.
You want to just rip it all up and hit the refresh button again because we have had a tough two months? What does that achieve?
How many games did fans on here give VK this season before the whining began? 4? So we should just hire managers on a 4 game contract now.

Vinny's won one game from thirteen this season and his win % record at Burnley is still about the same a Carrick at Boro.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:30 pmMichael Carrick-I feel he will get snapped up soon by a bigger club than Boro

I'm sure you'll tell me, but what loyalty did he show us in the summer? Do you mean he didn't bugger off elsewhere? There might be another reason for that and it's not because he was being loyal to Burnley.

Didn’t he build the club up and elevate the club to this level. He also brought some special players to the club?
Or does this only matter when it’s a manger you like
Re: If VK gets potted who would you have?
If Vince gets sacked we need a manger that would storm the championship and attract young hungry players. For that reason I’d appoint Vincent Kompany
