Kudos to you for the effort. I had Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML) in 2016 and the resources Blood Cancer UK provided during the 9 months of treatment was amazing.

I would have donated more but money is tight at the moment. I wish you all the very best!
I’m sorry to hear about your recent illness but so pleased you’re doing well. You don’t need to justify yourself. Just sharing your story is fabulous. Thank you for your comment. It’s a fabulous charity. Take care!

Just donated to your worthy cause jdrobbo, I recently lost a good pal of mine to this awful disease, good luck in the Marathon and make sure that you’ll be wearing the Claret and Blue!

Keep posting your training screenshots please, John. I’m interested in seeing how you increase your mileage. Your long run every week would be sufficient.

Did this today. Had to cut short to intercept Mrs jdr but some decent kms in the bank. I did 30 the other weekend. Hoping to get up to 35-37kms a few times. I’ll probably have to slow down a bit although I feel pretty comfortable. It’s the unknown that still remains a small concern. If you click on my sponsorship link, all my runs (since the page went live) link directly to that. Thank you for asking.

As promised, Tricky Trevor. Two medium/ long runs over the last three days. Getting miles into my legs. Hoping to do another long run soon.

Here’s a few from this week…

Not done a long one

5k, 10k and a 10 miler. Did over 70km last week (nothing like your 120 miles though) so gone a bit steadier and also had quite a lot on. Hopefully will manage another long run next week. Cheers 👍🏻

Won’t harm you at this stage, might even do you good.
Just remember even mile splits once you actually get to running. That’s a lot of people going through them narrow gates.

Keep it going pal. Those times look pretty tidy to me after converting Km to miles. You will smash it.

Good work. Get London out of the way and, if you want it, you have a sub3hr in you.
I did mine at Selby, the flattest course in England, but they only do a half now. The Vale of York would be a good one for you.
As I said earlier in the thread training with others would give you a rapid boost.
Best wishes.

That seems quite a way off (I’d be genuinely happy with sub 3:30) but I won’t say never. Used to think that a sub 90 minute half wasn’t achievable but in Stafford last March, I chose to run at the front with the club runners and I managed a 1:26:52.

Thank you!!

Just to add that 2:35 in the marathon, not travel to London time. That’s unrealistic in the car

Hope I’m not stealing their glory posting this but Inchy has had an outstanding run finishing inside his target of 2hr 35m.
JD, with less than 5 miles to go,Is on target for beating his target of 3hr 30m.
