Club kit on sale Inc first team

Post by IanMcL » Sat Jan 27, 2024 10:16 am

First team shirt now £41 and pence.

Obviously resigned to relegation!

How much was it before it was reduced then?

Like the current home kit about as much as the teams’s performances in it.

Not sure how you reach that conclusion, we wouldn't be playing in that shirt even if we stayed up, so they need to get rid of them whatever the outcome

That’s why it’s been reduced - they’ll have bought a load and they’re not selling.

Needs a massive focus next year to avoid this years shockers. I’d like to hope the sales figures will have provided the necessary incentive.

Nothing unusual about kits being reduced at this time of the season. Lots of Premier League teams have reduced theirs before we have. The unusual thing was last season’s remaining at full price as long as it did.

I nipped into that Sports Direct the other day for something and noticed they were selling out shirts for about £70. Even the kids shirt was about £50. Disgusting.

Cheap in comparison to the majority of other clubs.

Its only a few years ago where the sale meant all shirts were £10!

They must have huge piles of unsold stock, as Alan Pace doesn't give many bargains away.

What do they do with unsold shirts when the new ones come out? I wonder how many they physically stock at any one time.

Reduce the price further. They did a few warehouse type sales a few years ago to get rid of the stock of kit and training wear. It was a bit of a free for all but a good idea.

They used to reduce them by 50% in a New Year sale but that stopped when ALK arrived.

I asked this question a few years ago,
The answer was that unsold shirts are sold off to a stall holder in Blackpool on the Golden Mile !!

I think a lot of our unsold kit went to Classic Football Shirts hence the start of the business relationship that led the shirt sponsorship last season.

The reason I ask about the unsold kit is that a friend of mine who is currently in the British forces in Africa helping kids in poor parts of the country has asked if anyone knows of any organisations that could donate football kit to the youngsters over there.

Anyone else heard the rumour of Castore taking over from Umbro recently? I don’t think it’s true as I thought Umbro had a couple of seasons left.

Fairly new sports brand from Liverpool I think?

Make England cricket kits and sponsor Andy Murray plus currently make Wolves, Villa, Newcastle and Preston shirts. Newcastle and Villa have however sacked them off as the quality they have provided was poor.

This is a Castore kit. Looks quality to me and a proper discount.

Kits might sell but they won’t get much for the first team

Took the plunge on Saturday and got last season's home shirt for the bargain price of 25 quid. Wanted one with good memories ;)

Also got one of the half price flags, mainly for displaying on Charles Bridge next time we win something as it is rather amusing to confuse the locals with a little posse of Czech residing clarets at such times :)
