I'm always pretty positive but I've got nothing, that's beyond woeful, zero desire. And that's me being positive !

Got a point, still down but was nice.

Some decent players amongst that team today.

Positively sure we are going down
Positively sure VK will still be with us next season
That's not so positive
Don't let a good comeback when we should have lost the game, cover up for the limitations of this Manager and Owner

Re: The positive thread
I wonder if any manager has gone from hero to zero so fast. He's learning too remember, don't write him off. I'm still very positive, given where we were and the squad we had when we last got relegated. I honestly thought that following season we might be in another relegation scrap.
By some miracle, and in what has to be the most inspired summer of transfers in our clubs modern history, we walked the championship at a stroll, got 100+ points and played the best football I've seen supporting the club.
This season is disappointing, no doubt. But in the context of the last 3 years, we're in a very good place. The manager, like many of our players, is full of potential but he's not the finished article yet. We were all crying out for transfers that expanded into Europe, to buy young potential, and to attempt to play a different brand of football.
We've done that, and the cost of it is you need patience for it to pay off in the medium term. I still believe we have one of the brightest young managers in the game, and a squad of potential that could, in time, be the best squad we've had in the premier league era.

What makes VK one of the best young managers in the game? He’s horrendously failed at the highest level.
Look at what the likes of Alonso, Slot, Farioli, De Zerbi, Amorim
They all some of the top young managers around.

Re: The positive thread
I’m not calling kompany one of the best young managers in the game but you can only compare de zerbi as the others haven’t managed in the premier league. De zerbi has only won 4 games in last 16 league games to.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:05 pmSerious question,

Kompany has failed to deliver this season and his stock rightly so dropped but you can’t compare him to managers who haven’t managed in the same league

There is nothing to get behind. I am usually as vocal as possible at games, but like the players effort levels on the pitch all to often this season, I just can't be arsed to waste my breath any more.

This season has been a joyless procession of false dawns, capitulation and inability to compete. That's 100% on the doorstep of the management and ownership.willsclarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:52 pmI wonder if any manager has gone from hero to zero so fast. Re: The positive thread
Tresor didn’t get on.
The substitutions worked and rescued a point.
We scored twice at home
First time we have gone behind and gained a point
Fulham still haven’t beaten us at home since 1951
We have gone two consecutive home games unbeaten

Re: The positive thread
Serious question
I can’t for the life of me understand why you support Burnley? You seem to complain about everything we do and are. From the manager/board/players ect.
So here’s my question, who do you think Burnley football club could attract as a manager? We’re a very small club, punching well above our weight. We have limited spending ability (it’s been stated numerous times that the actual prices we’re paying for players is well below what has been stated in the press) The financing of our players bought have been spread out over numerous years, and even then our Top signings is well below what an average top flight club would describe as serious money. So who do you think we would attract? I’m genuinely interested interested in hearing your and other people opinions.
If you dislike so much about our club, and you have an affiliation with Newcastle, why not just go and support them?
I don’t wish to offend you, I just find it baffling.

Re: The positive thread
They got the balance wrong between youth and hardy experience. But in the context of a plan that begun at the end of Dyches tenure I'd say we're not doing badly. It's just frustrating to watch a real lack of nous to get ourselves points where we should get them. We just don't have those players because we've chosen another route of raw potential.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 11:04 pmThis season has been a joyless procession of false dawns, capitulation and inability to compete. Re: The positive thread
Undefeated in February.
Re: The positive thread
The three new signings all played their part in getting us back into the game (especially Fofana).
The huddle at the beginning of the 2nd half (led by Foster?)
Fulham have still not beaten us at home since the 1950's.
Playing 2 up top worked far better from 65 mins onwards than that awful formation VK set up in the first half.
