Potter?
If the club announced on Monday that they had sacked VK and replaced him with Graham Potter, would you be pleased?
I still like VK, but my patience is wearing thin...

Re: Potter?
I doubt he would come to Burnley.
Re: Potter?
He would never come to Burnley. May as well suggest Conte or Zidane.

Re: Potter?
He’d be taking over a Championship club. Why wouldn’t he wait for a decent, mid-tier Prem job to come up?

Can it?
This is as bad of a season (relatively for spend/league) that we've ever had.

1. No chance potter would come here
2. No chance Pace is sacking Kompany, they have a great relationship

Re: Potter?
Whoever comes in is left with an unbalanced squad of kids. I’d let VK fix it in the Championship, but he’ll have to get off to a flyer.

Re: Potter?
My worry is that VK is now a "beaten man" and will he have the same drive, ambition and ideas when we are in the Championship again . More significantly would you trust him again in the PL if we got promoted based on his tactics, buying new players, and team selection

VK I’m sure will be as determined as ever to fix this.
We wouldn’t be able to afford Potter.

Re: Potter?
Rather have Cooper
Re: Potter?
I still want VK at the helm next season, but he isn’t half making that difficult at the minute.
I don’t think his job is as safe as Matt Williams makes out, though. Alan Pace already has a history of having a twitchy trigger finger as shown with Dyche.
As for Potter - yes, I think he’s be about as good a replacement as we could get. Or Moyes if he was to get the bullet at West Ham.

Re: Potter?
Really? Potter has proved himself to be an excellent premier league manager. No one has managed to get a tune out of Chelsea so he can’t be judged on that.

VK going nowhere.
His contract is bullet proof.
Move on to next season and review.

Re: Potter?
When VK came in it was a great new adventure ,his reputation as a player brought in guys hungry to play in England ,there was all the hype from the media guys launching fantastic videos of new players coming in ,and once the ball started rolling it was impossible to stop ,we’d be losing matches with 5 mins to go and score 2 in injury time ,some teams were beaten before they got out of the coach ,next season the championship will be ready for us they’ll have seen every match we’ve played this season,if we reach the play offs it’ll be a major achievement.

Re: Potter?
Stick.
We’ve played some good football at times and whilst I’m not happy with many of his decisions I’d hope he is intelligent enough to have learnt from them.
The fates have certainly been against us, from that atrocious run of home fixtures we were dealt, to refereeing decisions, to illness and injury. I still feel all our problems go back to last Summers transfer window and what a waste it was. The promoted side needed PL nous and got O’Shea & Berge plus too many young, promising, predominantly continental talent.

Re: Potter?
Potter being paid out by Chelsea. We would need to pay VK out too until he got a new job.
Never going to happen.
Personally I don't think we should be thinking about a new manager either but each to their own I guess.

Yes, because he's a very bright bloke who will have gained experience, and learned from his mistakes.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 7:15 pmMore significantly would you trust him again in the PL if we got promoted based on his tactics, buying new players, and team selection
Re: Potter?
Excellent may be pushing it. Until Potter left, Brighton were underperforming their xG consistently. It took a new manager coming in to push them to the next level.

Re: Potter?
Don't even think Harry Potter could save us now.
Biggest concern is how many of this squad would remain and of those that do, how many would still have the desire to play for VK? Would VK still have the pulling power he had previously after this season? I don't think it could get much worse, performance wise, than it is right now, regardless.

Re: Potter?
VK will sort it but the last 3 games against the potential Premier league champions is not a fair jardstick to judge anyone on.Injuries to key players aren't helping but stubbornly refusing to alter underperforming players is something that needs altering.6 points in the next two games is vital.

Re: Potter?
I'm not VK Out yet, but I'd snap your hand off for Graham Potter, and so would anybody being 100% honest with themselves outside of the extremely impressive success of last season. Proven at building a longterm project in the mould ALK talk about while playing good football and delivering results.
No chance we get him. I see him at West Ham if they chop Moyes. He'll definitely get more lucrative and stable offers than we could manage.

Re: Potter?
I take it you were in attendance yesterday. Do you think we have 'bottomed out' and can only improve from now on? That defeat and performance yesterday disgusted a large cross section of our support. Football's an expensive hobby around here for a lot of people especially when things aren't working out. There is ample time left in this disastrous season for supporters to 'turn' and demonstrate with their feet that lack of belonging that was so vital a part of our promotion season last year.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 7:13 pmCan it?

Is the next home game on tv? I honestly don't know but if it is we might see evidence around the ground that people are not prepared to tolerate a repeat of yesterday's shambles. Yes, it can get worse.
Re: Potter?
More chance of getting Porter from the Suicide Squad
Re: Potter?
May as well ask if we'd be happy with Ancelotti.

I actually think we hit our peak right around Christmas and we just aren't getting any better.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 10:26 pmI take it you were in attendance yesterday.
