Declan Rice
As poor a performance we saw from our midfield, I thought Rice was outstanding for them. I remember ~3 years ago for West Ham at the Turf he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch but seems to have taken it to another level.
A shame we have to see these players dominate against our own team but in him and Bellingham, England's midfield should be sorted for the next 10 years.

Re: Declan Rice
He’s a great player but he won’t have many easier games this season.
Re: Declan Rice
I thought he was immense too. Always in the right spot for receiving the ball off the defence but more importantly sniffing out any potential threat we had. There was a moment first half where Amdouni & Fofana had a bit of a break on and he intercepted the move with an outrageous sliding tackle. Like you say with him, Bellingham and Foden in this form it should be exciting for England.
Re: Declan Rice
Yes he had an excellent game but let’s be honest we allowed him to be. He must have thought this is so easy, nobody seems to mark me so I’ll show them what I’m about.

Re: Declan Rice
We gave him oceans of space.
Even an average Championship midfielder would have excelled against
us yesterday, never mind Rice. Must have thought it was his birthday.
Awful stuff from us.

Re: Declan Rice
One of if not the best English midfielders in the Premier league, his stamina is phenomenal.
Re: Declan Rice
He looked very accomplished.

On £250,000 per week, I think.

Re: Declan Rice
On the year we went down I came to the Turf to see WHU. He was the best player I had seen that year, and better than I even thought he was. A proper Rolls Royce
Re: Declan Rice
It should be exciting for England, but with play-it-safe Southgate I doubt it will beRVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:02 amI thought he was immense too. Re: Declan Rice
A bag of pilau would do all right up against our midfield.
But yes Rice is a very, very good player.

Re: Declan Rice
I think our front line and midfield share this view. They certainly enjoyed watching him do whatever the f=-k he wanted. So frustrating to see us give him acres of space to just do whatever he wanted to in. Really poor.
