Re: Fan's Voice
She was a champion of ALK/VSL and Alan Pace for a long time (including dismissing some of the issues I have discussed at a number of us have discussed at length regarding the takeover and subsequent management) and is a member of the Fan Advisory Board (along with two other of her pod-mates) it is interesting what makes people turn and change tone.
Re: Fan's Voice
I didn’t know who Natalie Bromley was until it was explained above. I guess when reality finally kicks you in the teeth it can have a way of making you re-assess your initial views. Mind you, the little piece itself was OK. Stating the obvious really.
Re: Fan's Voice
I decided to carry on reading the article as its only short, but wish I hadn't, why does she think she speaks for all burnley fans, surely the word "some" should have been placed in front of her final sentence
" Burnley fans are completely disengaged from this team and this manager. It is going to take some work by Alan Pace to reconnect it."

Re: Fan's Voice
I don’t think she has turned or changed opinion on Alan Pace, the board/ ALK she is still very much in support of them if you listen to what she says on the NNN podcast. She has however recently changed her view on Kompany and this current Burnley. Not sure if there are a few personal gripes being aired on here but I for 1 find her to be an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable Burnley fan who points her point across extremely well whenever I have listed to her on talksport or whatever.
I do agree with Nori though her wording is bad in this article she shouldn’t speak for all Burnley fans but if comments on here, Twitter etc are anything to go by she is speaking for quite a lot of people.

Always comes across as attention hungry.
Agree with the comments about talking on behalf of others, people seem to do in the hope some will come with them on their whinge. For record I feel as engaged/disengaged with the club as I have always done.

Re: Fan's Voice
I learnt nothing from that.
Burnley Football Club used to be known for its hard work and effort under season Sean Dyche. The new manager, Vincent Kompany, doesn't play with that ethos and doesn't play the players who got us promoted back into the Premier League, like Benson and Zaroury. I wonder if the chairman, Alan Pace, has noticed?
ChatGPT > Add more detail to this -
Under the seasoned leadership of Sean Dyche, Burnley Football Club, he cultivated a reputation synonymous with grit, determination, and an unwavering work ethic. Dyche's tenure was marked by a blue-collar approach that resonated deeply with players and fans alike. His managerial philosophy instilled a sense of unity and resilience within the squad, transforming Burnley into a formidable force on the pitch.
However, the winds of change swept through Turf Moor with the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the new manager. Kompany brought with him a fresh perspective that diverged from the established ethos of hard work and effort. While Dyche's tactics relied heavily on discipline and defensive solidity, Kompany ushered in a more expansive style of play, favouring flair and creativity.
This shift in managerial approach has left some fans disconcerted, particularly regarding Kompany's team selection. Notably, seasoned players who played pivotal roles in Burnley's promotion back into the Premier League, such as Benson and Zaroury, have been sidelined under Kompany's reign. The omission of these stalwarts has raised questions among supporters about the direction the club is heading.
Many wonder if chairman Alan Pace has taken note of these changes. As the steward of Burnley Football Club, Pace is responsible for steering the club towards success while staying true to its traditions and values. Whether he shares the fans' concerns regarding the departure from Dyche's ethos and the exclusion of key players remains a speculation among the Burnley faithful. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Turf Moor to see how the club navigates this transition period under Kompany's leadership and whether Pace intervenes to address any perceived deviations from Burnley's identity.

Re: Fan's Voice
Think it's very easy to understand why the BBC would rather publish this sort of quick opinion piece than someone explaining why it's actually good that we're going down without a whimper and the only problem at Burnley is fans moaning.
It's not too easy to understand why people would think this sort of thing is meant to be informative to other Burnley fans, but I suspect the people moaning about it know what they're doing.

Not a scientific test, but the vote for Kompany to stay or go on here, the majority wanted him to stay, so the bit about the manager shouldn't read most.

Re: Fan's Voice
She’s entitled to voice her opinions and perceptions but not to speak for all. The BBC are really to blame - they have her as the contact when they want a fan’s point of view. They give her a platform and don’t put the effort to find other podcasters / fan groups / organisations etc.

Re: Fan's Voice
Over the last 20 years it’s always been the same three or four faces you see getting interviewed or asked to comment on club related stuff. I assume they just go to what appear to be the most popular sites/ podcasts and ask the owner of it to share their opinion.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 1:00 pmShe’s entitled to voice her opinions and perceptions but not to speak for all. She appeared on the tv programme about JJ Watt and spoke about us winning the league in 1960 with only two professional players in Elder and McIlroy. She said the rest worked down the mine on a Saturday morning and then turned up at the Turf in their working clothes, got changed and played.

Do we know if these Fan Advisory Board meetings still take place? Are there any minutes from their meetings that we are aware of?
I submitted a question to four of them asking for it to be raised at a meeting and only heard back from one of them acknowledging my request. I never did get a response to it or know if they actually even raised it at their group.

The 'fan-advisory board' is about as useful as an ethics committee in North Korea - gives some fans a false sense of entitlement/influence as though whatever they say/do/care matters one jot, more than likely it's just another easy way for some PR from Pace to trickle down to the BFC fans that will lap it up
I mean honestly - check this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4-cdqMIXU0&t=2815s
Alan Pace - "I want (us) to win a Champions League"
Pace is either nuts or thinks those sat on the 'fan-advisory board' will lap up any old crap - "you believed him, you believed that's what he wants".
Deary me.

I don't think Ms. Bromley's any different from most podcasters and bloggers in that respect; suggesting or at least implying that 'your' views are those that are held by the 'majority' seems to come with the territory; I suspect that's important with regard to achieving and maintaining the necessary hits/clicks to pay you a wage... truth and reality will always become a secondary consideration.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 1:00 pmShe’s entitled to voice her opinions and perceptions but not to speak for all.
