Zaroury
I'm currently at The Preston Hull game. Don't ask.
Zaroury lasted an hour. Got subbed after putting in another crap cross.
He is just not Premier League standard.
He's got a good backing from me though until now.

He’s been pretty poor whenever I’ve watched them, tbh.burnley007 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 4:27 pmI'm currently at The Preston Hull game. Don't ask.

Not posted it on here because there’s enough negativity, but on the evidence of his Hull performances there’s absolutely no reason he should be anywhere near our first team in the Prem.
Robert’s can’t get a start at Leeds yet I saw a post this morning saying he should be starting for us

Last two sub appearances-one assist and one goal. Not bad for a RB and he has looked goodNewClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 4:39 pmHe’s been pretty poor whenever I’ve watched them, tbh.

Re: Zaroury
I would suggest that when we've seen someone play 48 times for Burnley it's quite wrong and silly to base your opinion of him on 7 games for Hull.

Zaroury next season will be based on whether or not Odobert and Koleosho are still with us.

Re: Zaroury
The way Anass got clattered onto the asphalt at home to Blackburn then moments later set up the Barnes first goal shows that he has some grit. We know he has the talent.
But reality is he came back from the World Cup half the player, and he needs to find what he had before. No argument for me that Koleosho or Odobert offer more at present.

Re: Zaroury
I think 7 games is enough to base an opinion on his current form and whether he could be starting and impacting games for us….daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:05 pmI would suggest that when we've seen someone play 48 times for Burnley it's quite wrong and silly to base your opinion of him on 7 games for Hull.
Getting subbed off just after the hour against Rotherham and Huddersfield doesn’t suggest he would be turning in the standard of performance at Anfield or Selhurst Park ( as examples).

People moaning about VK not playing players from last season, but none have gone to other premier league clubs all on loan to championship clubs.

Point is, Roberts has swapped a Prem bench for a Champ bench which is annoying. We want our loanees playing.
Re: Zaroury
Made their first goal yesterday
And if he stays at Leeds next season he could be with a Prem club instead of a Championship club
Watched Zaroury other week against WBA and he did nothing - subbed off in second half that game also

The mental gymnastics displayed on here to defend a manager's god awful decisions currently serving up one of the worst attempts to ever remain in the top flight is quite something.

Still young and adapting to life in England. He has a lot of talent and potential. Having a tough time elsewhere before coming back to us will only aid his development and character.

Koleosho looked good but I'm not sure what on earth you've seen from Odobert since he scored at Fulham before Christmas to suggest he's offering more at present.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:26 pmThe way Anass got clattered onto the asphalt at home to Blackburn then moments later set up the Barnes first goal shows that he has some grit. Re: Zaroury
my friend is a PNE season ticket holder and he said he was OK but not Premier league standard as it's a big leap but you need to play to prove it and up your game that is the difference and you have to remember Zaroury is still young and learning..

Odobert odd glimpse running at players, but widely offers very little for me and certainly causes us all sorts of issues defensively with his lack of support. But he’s young and should be coming off the bench in a 4-3-3.
As for Zaroury he’s a typical winger drifts in and out of games. Looks brilliant when someone gets on the end of a cross or cuts in and shoots on target, looks on the edge of the game when those things aren’t really happening. I watched him v Southampton for Hull and thought he looked decent, but then I don’t prescribe to him being way off it after the World Cup either (Birmingham, Norwich, Bournemouth, Preston, Huddersfield are all games that spring to mind post World Cup where he was effective and played well imo).
Re: Zaroury
I think Odobert’s transfer fee could start to rise on UTC.

Re: Zaroury
His performance level has certainly dropped. Personally I'd still start him today because he's one of our players most likely to open up Bournemouth. If he doesn't perform and show enough desire in the first half he should be withdrawn and left out against West Ham.
