Kit opinions
Kit opinions
What type of kit would you like to see next season?
Traditional or more like the last championship campaign, also revert back to white shorts and maybe hooped socks.
Sponsors?
Are we still committed to Umbro?
Will the kit already have been chosen?

White shorts, hooped socks.
Alternatively, white shirts, white socks.
Maybe a modern take on the V shirt from the seventies. Ground breaking was that…

Re: Kit opinions
I think an away shirt with a collar and tie design will sell very well amongst users of this board.

Re: Kit opinions
As above, home shorts should always be white and socks either white or claret and blue hooped. I don’t mind blue or claret shorts with the home too but as an alternative to be worn away from home.
With us now releasing three kits a season I do feel that one should be kept for the following and run for two campaigns. Brentford and Brighton do similar.

Kits will have been decided quite a while ago. I think the Umbro contract has a way to run yet as we signed an extension the other year.

I thought Umbro were on their way out and the end of the season with the next kit from Castore.

Re: Kit opinions
I’d heard the rumour about Castore. I hope it’s not true as the quality is poor and expensive. Wolves, Newcastle and Villa have all ditched them ahead of next season mainly due to quality issues.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:33 pmI thought Umbro were on their way out and the end of the season with the next kit from Castore.

Re: Kit opinions
I'd like the away one to be White with 2 vertical Claret and Blue stripes, like a classic Palace away kit. Shorts also white with the stripe lining up. Socks white with same stripes.

Re: Kit opinions
As far away from all 3 of this seasons kits as possible, they're all terrible and will trigger very bad memories. I wouldn't mind some variation of the V shirt and we should definitely be wearing white shorts at home and preferably Claret and blue hooped socks.

Some good kits this time please. Claret, blue, white and yellow colours, no Wimbledon or Watford kits.
Re: Kit opinions
Home kit must have white shorts and preferably hooped or white socks. Must not have an awful collar like this seasons or some awful half blue sleeve thing going on. For the away kit I prefer white or yellow.

All they have to do is re print the first picture as it has the correct badge on it. Absolute banger with the umbro repeated pattern on the arms also.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:47 pm

Re: Kit opinions
The one from last season was excellent. The three this year are some of the worst for years. Although saying that, for most of our time under Dyche we had some horrible shirts.
Re: Kit opinions
Totally agree about the badge. I think it was really poor that the badge supposedly for one anniversary season has been kept ever since. The badge on these shirts simply is Burnley FC yet barely seen in the club shop. It should be back as the main badge.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:47 pm

I bet Pace doesnt even know about the old badge, if fans write into him he might realise it is wrong
Last years kit actually grew on me, this years screams just make it as bland as possible so we can make as much margin on it as possible.

Probably should be on the unpopular opinion thread and this is not something I ever thought I would say, but I actually prefer the "new" badge nowadays.

Nah, it's a design disaster. Always looks really small, unnoticeable and unforgettable. (But hey, opinions!)

Re: Kit opinions
Totally agree.
It's iconic - far more 'marketable' (hate that term) than our current badge.
I also feel after the disastrous season that it'd give something to look forward to / get excited about.

Re: Kit opinions
Pure garbage as well, the reason for keeping it. At the time, 09/10, it was said that the badge has had exposure. Kids in Ecuador and South Korea are gunna be scrambling to get their hands on a Burnley shirt (only sold from the club shop) with a scribbled bird with a lump of shite on it's foot because of one season in the Prem? Yeah right. Get rid and get the proper badge back.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 7:23 pmTotally agree.

There’s a Company that allows you to put your own design on a T shirt, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

Wouldn’t mind an away kit similar to this:

Re: Kit opinions
Do you know if it will be Umbro or Castore?
Re: Kit opinions
It was well before my time but I’ve always been interested on fans first impressions of the ‘v’ shirt when it was released? With it being such a move away from tradition, was it originally met with derision or did it strike favour immediately?

One with sweat on it . Still looking for it this season
Re: Kit opinions
Looking back at the Mitre one….it hasn’t aged well! The shield around the badge is naff, far too much yellow and the sleeves are massive. I had it at the time and what I did like about it was the mix and match shorts and socks with the white away kit meaning both kits could be worn with any combination of white, blue or claret shorts/socks.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 4:47 pm

It does look a bit crap on that mannequin mind, think the mannequin makes it look dumpy!
Cold be reimagined to something using aspects of it with a modern twist.. but for me desperately need the old badge more than anything!
Re: Kit opinions
I dunno about the shirts but our new sponsor should be “Confused.com”.

Re: Kit opinions
Yeah i agree, best thing about it is the background print of the badge though and the material was fairly high quality. Endsleigh as a sponsor tends to be the classic look for some reason and suits our shirts.burnmark wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 8:54 amLooking back at the Mitre one….it hasn’t aged well! Think this years designs were designed by a school kid by the looks of it.

The best kit for design was the adidas away top in the waddle era for me even though the material was crap.

Also think this from 2003-04 flew under the radar a bit as a decent shirt, minus the sponsor mind.

Re: Kit opinions
Loved last season's kit, wish we'd kept it this year. Stood out, was different.
Wouldn't mind a return to the quarters.
I wasn't bothered by the badge change especially as it coincided with a huge upswing in fortunes, but the last few years I've wanted to switch back for one simple reason- it's less likely to be mistaken for a West Ham or Villa badge. The current badge and kit doesn't stand out a ton- for overseas audiences and channel hoppers you want a design from kit to crest that stands out at a casual glance.

Always white shorts on the home kit. Don't mind whether white, hooped or Claret socks.
Wouldn't mind seeing a remake of our early days white shirt with blue diagonal sash as an away kit at some point. An ode to the kit we wore after the first royal visit to a football club I believe? Otherwise a yellow away kit is always my go to for us.

Re: Kit opinions
I believe that socks are now designated in the rules of both the PL and EFL (at least in the Championship) as having to be a single colour with, at most, a 12mm band set at the bottom of the 'turnover' at the top of the sock (no idea what that part is really called).
