Times Like These Podcast

Post by AlwaysClaret1882 » Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:40 pm

Hi All,

I commented on a post a few weeks ago about a new podcast that I’ve set up about the good times following Burnley. I know you’re all thinking do we really need another Burnley podcast but I’m hoping this one can be a little bit different.

Rather than looking at where we are now, I want to look back at the history of our great club and for this podcast to be by the fans. You can find us on YouTube or Spotify under the name Times Like These or just search AlwaysClaret ☺️

Like I say, I want this to to be by the fans so if anyone is interested in coming on the show then please feel free to email me at alwaysclaret@icloud.com and we’ll arrange for you to come on an episode!

I like the sound of this, not that keen on fan podcasts usually but prefer the sound of one looking back on previous generations. I’ll pop it on whilst I have a bath 😂

I stopped listening to Burnley podcasts this season as it was depressing me listening to how crap we've been.
I'll give this one a listen

The title has drawn me in. I’ll definitely give it a listen in the next few days.

Watched the first 2 yesterday, currently watching the 3rd. It’s great listening to peoples favourite players.

I've enjoyed them so far. Found myself joining in and thinking about past glories and players on my drive home from work.
We have some good fan podcasts but I've got to the point of not being able to listen to them as I don't want reminding about our latest defeat.
Whats the plan for keeping this going long term?

Glad we are going to end the season with more points than there are Burnley podcasts. It was looking touch and go for a while ;)

Glad to hear you enjoyed them! The plan is to make as many as I can and get as many people involved ideally. As you said we have many great fan podcasts and they’re all different for people’s tastes, the hope is that this can be just another one that people can listen to and join in remembering the good old days 😅

As a suggestion, maybe put some emphasis on people's first game? Mine were both pne (home and away.)
A certain Michael Jackson scored goals in a 2-1 defeat at home. Away was when we beat them under Waddle 3-2

That’s a great idea! I know I struggle remembering my first game so I always go with my first memory (interestingly also PNE!)
