Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?

No but it’s nice to have a chance of something to play for or grasp on to.

Disappointed it wasn’t a 6 point penalty, no doubt influenced by their dodgy chairman somehow.

It gives us some hope, but we'll still need to win at least as many games as we have done so far season to have a chance.

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
Nope.
Nothing I have seen this season, Saturday v Brentford included, leads me to believe this lot have a chance of staying up. Love to be proven wrong, as would all those who think we’re done, but what we need we don’t have. It’s really that simple.

I was looking forward to a season in the Championship again. Oh well, all aboard the Premier League survival train.
Nice to have a little hope, even if the odds are against us.

It gives us a slightly better chance of pulling off the great escape, but that original chance was practically non existent in the first place. Obviously i hope we defy the odds and do it, but i still think we'll come up short.

My thoughts exactly, I also think this team needs another year together before taking on the premier league again, we have been massively out of our depth.
It would be nice to finish a lot closer though

Makes the 3 points we should have got and the one less they should have following the game at their place all the significant

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
Yes, I've always had hope and still do. Supporting any team isn't about being right. Gambling is about being right. I've seen several games where we haven't been far off it, United, Palace, West Ham and Luton at home. 1 point from what could have been 12. Fine margins.
We need to win games now that we might have only needed to draw, but that's football.
Fingers crossed, support the lads and enjoy staying up, knowing that you supported them throughout the season.
Or on the other hand applaud them for surviving against the odds despite you deserting them when they needed you the most.
Or glory in being right, because I know you won't be able to resist telling us that you were right, some of you from as far back as the Spurs at home game.

If the four is upheld then we're back in the game. We just need to get above Luton and close the gap on Forest to two points before the final day. I can't see it happening but you never know. The decisions late in the Forest and Luton games are looking more significant though.

With Foster and Fofana upfront , who knows.
Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
Wasn't at the game so please correct me if I'm wrong but how convincing were we vs 10 men?
The only thing which might give us any hope is what our run in looks like in respect of teams already on the beach.

Always hope, but not expectation. Realism says we’re still a team capable of leaking goals, but we have scored 2 in each of our last two games which is progress. We need to beat a big side to have a chance - big boy pants time required at Chelsea.

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
We need to make up five points on Luton plus they have a better goal difference. Their last four home games are vs Bournemouth, Brentford, Everton and Fulham.
Also Forest play Palace and Fulham at home in their next two games the current four point gap could easily be nine or ten after the next round of fixtures.

Definitely better with Muric who should have been No1 but VK wanted to slap his wrists for Aros Billy Big bxxxxxxs stunt in his nightclub knees up.A fine and a hard word would have been better than Traff played in goal for 6 months .
Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
I gave up any hopes of survival over a month ago. Just because Muric is back it doesn’t hide the deficiencies in front of him. On a positive note though, it should give the back four a degree of confidence knowing there is a competent keeper behind them, and hopefully a few better performances before the inevitable relegation.

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
No I don’t. What does annoy me though, is without the VAR farces, the table would look like:
16. Everton 25pts (with a further deduction to come)
17. Luton 21pts
18. Burnley 21pts
19. Forest 20pts
20. Sheff U 14pts
Then I’d think we had a chance.
We’ll go down and, just like last time where Kruhl’s double fist punch on Vydra sent us down, a blatant block/obstruction without challenging for the ball, will do it this time. So annoying.

VAR more or less gave us three points on Saturday, shorty and the Lady Lino played on when Vitinho was flattened.

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
VAR gave the correct decision on Saturday - even Frank admitted it. What NewClaret refers to are the incidents where it was inexplicable to not get the decision (at least one we had a letter of apology for).
When we get into things like West Ham H (Coufal), Villa A (Ramsay) and Bournemouth A I’ll accept those are the types of things that level out. But we should now be level with 17th because as crap as we have been, those two have also been.
Got to use it as a siege mentality now, as Dyche would.
Do I have hope - yes.
Will we - no.

You final.point there suggests you first should also be no. Just stop after the first. (Or say 'not sure' for will we - or even 'hopefully yes' )

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
Interesting thread if I’m being honest. No offence to the OP but doesn’t matter if anyone has hope. (I know it’s a message board and it is a good topic for discussion.)
What will be will be and a ‘true’ supporter will always have hope until it’s mathematically impossible. They will pull for every player on the team to do their best and they will watch every game if they can whether live or on their phone. Life stops when Burnley play, and the misses better know it. If not, your marriage is destined to end in divorce.
It won’t matter what league we’re playing in or who we’re playing against. We will always have hope that are team could do better. Every fan of every team always hopes that (unless you’re Man City and you win everything).
I’m with some of the others. Heart says we’ll survive, brain says we’re out of our depth. No true leader has cost us. If we’d had a Tarks or a Mee on the field I think we survive. Unless we get rid of everyone, I think we will be the team to beat next year though.

I thought we were very unconvincing - 80 mins at home to 10 men in rotten form and the fact our keeper was MoM says it all.
Still have very low hope of staying up, even if it has risen slightly.

On the other hand, Fofana missed an open goal, then slipped while rounding the keeper after nicking the ball off him, an xG of nearly 3 and 17 shots on goal. Agreed we had some messy moments and we were nervy at the end (perhaps understandable) but we really should have wrapped the game up sooner.

It's been a dreadful season there's no covering that up. It speaks volumes when 2 teams near the bottom have been docked points & somehow we are still below them by some distance for me that says it all.hetheclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:44 amI thought we were very unconvincing - 80 mins at home to 10 men in rotten form and the fact our keeper was MoM says it all.

Exactly. Every club has a vocal group of refereeing/VAR conspiracy theorists.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 8:16 amAll the teams listed there will be able to cite their own perceived injustices & create a table displaying an higher position.
I have an ex colleague who supports Brentford but unfortunately I couldn’t discuss the game with him because the only thing he will talk about is how the PL doesn’t want Brentford in the league.
We are where we are in the league because we’re crap, not because of referees. The same applies to every team and their respective league position.

Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
I think it’s all too easy for some people to lose sight of that. The VAR decisions which have gone against us divide opinion away from a BFC perspective & are very debatable & not as clear cut as some people like to make out. People don’t seem as keen to talk about the decisions which have gone our way it’s all hard luck stories.hetheclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 8:19 amExactly. Re: Notts Forest: do you now have hope we will survive?
We were playing pretty well for the first 80 mins, dominated the ball and created some decent chances where we should have been 3-4 up before the subs came on and changed the game. However there were moments in that 80 where we showed our season long capacity for being naive and sloppy:hetheclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:44 amI thought we were very unconvincing - 80 mins at home to 10 men in rotten form and the fact our keeper was MoM says it all.

1. Letting in Wissa on a 1-1 right before half time -total switch off from Esteve
2. O'shea crazy back pass
Then we sat way too deep and invited pressure and were lucky to win in the end. We just looked like a team that didn't know how to win a game and see it out. Quite understandable with the season we've had.

It never ceases to amaze me how some members of this board have literally nothing positive to say about the club they supposedly support.
It does not matter what the subject is they will find some way of making a negative comment.
When you add in the fact that some of these do not even attend the games you have to ask yourself what is the point ? They get zero enjoyment or pleasure from what is supposed to be an activity that people choose to do to make their life better.

Hope I’m sure everyone has, realistically no I think it’s too much to ask with the games left. I just hope we don’t look back after the season ends thinking those two points lost at say Forest would have done the trick.

It is the same on match threads, some can't help themselves posting nonsense when we lose but seem forget their log in details when it is a win

People who make up these “tables if VAR worked” seem to forget to include decisions where it went for us such as WHU away.
Edit - in fact did it even get used for that penalty they should have had at the end?

Just had a look at fixtures left and even with a serious upturn in form I can see us only getting maximum 11 pts from here on in.
Obviously that won't be enough.
Like someone said above we would need to take points of someone of the big teams.
