Re: what is YOUR favourite era watching the Clarets ?
Over our 142 year history we've been blessed with many special eras. Dad would argue that the team including the likes of Halley, Boyle & Watson and managed by John Haworth that won the FA Cup in 1914 and the League title in 1921 was the best of the lot.......But, for me, it has to be the magical Jimmy Mac period from around the mid-fifties to that sensational 29 league goal season from Willie Irvine in '65/'66 that enabled us to finish 3rd in Division One.

Rather than list individual seasons i'd go with 1999-2002 as it was my first home and away seasons.
We traveled around the country with my parents and brother sometimes making long weekends of trips (Oxford and Portsmouth to name just two) and hardly missing a match.
Highlights and a few lowlights of the three seasons:
1999/2000
Derby and Coventry in the Cup. The first time except Anfield (i think) that id's seen Burnley at Premier League grounds.
Oxford United had a late winner and we stayed in the same hotel as the team.
Scunthorpe United away speaks for itself.
Ian Wright Wright Wright
2000/2001
Bolton away on the first day in what was a beautiful, new(ish) stadium.
Hillsborough felt like the biggest ground i'd ever been in at the time.
Blackburn
Sheff United away
2001/2002
Late winner at Bradford.
Beating Preston home and away. Both brilliant.
Man City
Grimsby
Gazza

Re: what is YOUR favourite era watching the Clarets ?
It has to include our winning of Division 1 in 59-60. Then the following seasons when we played great football and yet achieved nothing, apart from losing a cup final to Spurs. After that I was away at university and then moving around teaching. I am now situated in the Fens so my trips to watch us are very limited. However, as tv games have become more available and UptheClarets replays of matches are available then I have to say last season would probably come second. We won so many games after being behind and/or in the last few minutes then won the Championship at Blackburn - so it must be a favourite.

81/82. My god we played some lovely football (albeit in Division 3). All one touch two touch triangles and one twos with the occasional audacious switch by Steven.
Just how I love the game to be played

A very good question but so difficult to answer. For me 1965-1970, 1972-1975, 1976-1992 when I hardly missed a game home or away & 2022-23 which at Deadwood provided me with not only the best night of my life watching The Clarets, but the best night of my life full stop.

For me, it's the Dyche years, particularly the 13-14 season when everything just clicked. Nobody gave us a prayer when we sold Austin just before the season.
I started watching in 94-95 (started on a relegation, great) and I have fond memories of Heath's 96-97 season when John Ward was around. For some reason, I'd always wanted to see us have a penalty shoot out and I got my wish around Christmas that season when we beat Wallsall. I think school had just broken up for Christmas, my team were finally looking half-decent and life was good.

2030 in the national league and managed by Joey Barton. Cheap Pies Cheap beers and hardcore fans plus most of the complainers on this board will have passed away or the dementia will have kicked in.
Re: what is YOUR favourite era watching the Clarets ?
1970’s under J Adamson was a good era we had some outstanding players as the song said Leighton James- Alan West- Martin Dobson and rest were great too watch some of the organised free kicks were worth the admission fee, but that era was just pipped by VK last season apart from the Sheffield Utd mauling and an inexplicable loss to QPR what season, Zaroury’s gaol at Sunderland & Benson’s 4 in a row just some of the outstanding memories

Dyche from 2013-19 was beyond my wildest dreams when I first started going on in the mid-late 90s.
I genuinely never thought we'd ever get promoted - then when we did with Coyle I thought that would be a flash in the pan...
Some of them famous victories under Dyche and that 7th place finish was just brilliant.

For me it will always be around 96/97/98 in the David Eyres/Glen Little period. I'm not as old as some of you on here, but that time has great memories of spending time with my Dad on the Turf. I'd have just started being old enough to really get interested in football - we've had better footballing sides since and some success and failures too. But that's where my fondness for the Clarets trully began and I still like to watch with the old man nearly 30 years on.

Not necessarily for the football but 1995 - 2005, basically when I was in my 20's, no kids, no responsibilities and football was about a big group of us having a day out. Particularly the away days.

In '66/'67.....In the Fairs Cup we had Stuttgart, Lausanne, Napoli & Eintracht Frankfurt, following European Cup games in '60/'61 against Reims and Hamburg.
We were fair spoilt as Burnley fans back in that era.

Plenty of good times Clarets, prepare for one of the best.
Re: what is YOUR favourite era watching the Clarets ?
A bit like Dave I enjoyed the McIlroy era of the late 50s and early 60s when we were usually in the top 6 with part timers paid on maximum wage or less, many youngsters were given jobs in the coal mines to stop them being called up by the forces. Crowds of 30k common and up to 50k (v Bradford City in a cup replay) with no separation, lots of friendly banter apart from behind the goals, white hankies waved and people being stretchered out. Almost all standing in much bigger Brunshaw Rd, Longside and Cricket field stands and Bee Hole open terrace.
Div 1 winners FA Cup finalists, European Cup games. Memories of Angus Elder Adamson Seith Shannon /Cummings Connelly Pointer, Robson and Pilkington with MacDonald then Blacklaw in goals.
Few cars then mostly special busses or even trains to away games
Happy memories

Re: what is YOUR favourite era watching the Clarets ?
For me, it's quite the same as has already been touched upon numerous times on this thread. Finally ending our time in the basement division under Jimmy Mullen, and the subsequent play-off win at Wembley. Two glorious seasons with players I felt I really could connect with, some of which are still among my favourite players; Deary, Francis, Farrell, Conroy, Heath, Eyres and of course McMinn.
Being in the Premier League was something I never thought I would see, looking up and seeing our neighbours rubbing shoulders with the big boys was hard. So of course, Sean Dyche and Vincent Kompany bringing more than a little glam to the town is amazing.

The Mullen years it was fun...home and away, nothing else has come close in my time supporting our club.
