PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I'm booked in tomorrow, and have received an email advising me that I have to download my booking form from the website, print it and take it with me.
I don't seem to be able to find anywhere on the site that gives me this info. So I can't download or print.
Can anyone help?
(I've definitely got a booking as they have both emailed me and sent me a text, and I have a PAYPAL receipt, (but that's the only booking reference that I can find)

If it’s a Barry Kirby event I’ve never downloaded the form or taken it with me. I think you’ll be fine.

They've sent me two emails with this info. (I don't usually have any problems negotiating websites and downloading stuff)
PLEASE PRINT YOUR BOOKING FORM : IT IS ESSENTIAL YOU PRINT AND BRING A PAPER COPY OF YOUR BOOKING FORM WITH YOU AS THIS WILL NEED TO GO WITH YOUR BLOOD SAMPLE SO THAT THE LABORATORY CAN IDENTIFY YOU WHEN SENDING US BACK YOUR RESULTS
and
Please note that it is very important that you PRINT and bring with you your booking form when you have your test otherwise your booking is likely to be cancelled. Your booking form can be downloaded from our website, there is no need to print and bring a copy of this email, we will need your original booking form to be printed and brought with you. Please note that it is very important that you PRINT and bring with you your booking form when you have your test otherwise your booking is likely to be cancelled. Yes, I got the same one but don’t have a printer. I could find it on the website (can’t remember how I did that sorry), so I tried to print it at the local garage beforehand but they were out of ink so I turned up without the form printed and they were fine. And nobody had the form printed in front of me either.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 11:32 pmThey've sent me two emails with this info. This isn’t a recommendation of course, but I think you’ll be fine without.
Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
That's the sort of tone that these people who ring up telling you of a $1400 order on Amazon use. Very odd way to put it.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 11:32 pmThey've sent me two emails with this info. (I don't usually have any problems negotiating websites and downloading stuff)

Apart from anything else, if it can be downloaded from their website, then they can download on the spot if they choose to. I dare say it's not uncommon nowadays for people to do everything via smartphone and not have a printer available, and there will also people who don't use internet much and also don't have a printer available, so it seems unnecessarily restrictive as well as a bit aggressive.
Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I'm going today. I've had multiple reminders via email and text stressing the importance of printing and taking the completed booking form. My booking form is attached to the email confirmation I originally received upon making the booking.

I can’t really help but I’d still definitely turn up. I would have thought you’ve enough details with you on your phone to confirm it’s you and explain to them the issue. If a space has been allocated for you they should be able to do some something. It’s a very important to get tested so if you can get there please do. Good luck.

The booking confirmation should have been emailed to you when you made the booking - it's a PDF attached to that email.

Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I've gone though my history, and can't find any confirmation email, other than the PAYPAL receipt which has a reference number and confirmation.
I wonder if I got a confirmation email and it went to junk? (It will of course have disappeared by now.)
It does however say that it can be "downloaded from the website" but I can't find that anywhere.
Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I logged in and had look on the website to see if I could find my booking form so I could tell you how to find it. But I couldn't locate it either. So if you can't find your email confirmation you'll just have to turn up, or you could email or call them beforehand using the contact details on the website.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 8:41 amI've gone though my history, and can't find any confirmation email, other than the PAYPAL receipt which has a reference number and confirmation.

Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I decided to ring the contact number at 9a.m. and got through immediately to a very helpful lady.
She said that I am not the first to ring up with this issue in the past 24 hours, and there is clearly an issue with the website, (which is not run by the BKPCA Charity).
She has given us reassurance that she is taking some pre printed paper forms to Turf Moor today, and we can all fill them in on arrival.
Thanks to all on this board who have offered advice, and hopefully this post will stop anyone else from worrying. Just turn up.
Good luck to all those being tested today.

When you received your booking confirmation email, there should have been a PDF attached. That's what needs to be printed.

Pretty well organised, nurse said over 500 due today.......now where's Mrs Aclaret ? Hope she's soon home from her bike ride !
Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I took my form and they gave me a duplicate one and said I didn’t need the one I printed off.
The musical chairs was a bit chaotic.
The nurse was lovely.
Thanks BK

Agree with karatekid on the musical chairs when queueing up for your slot, the nurse was down to earth and made me feel at ease. Have been meaning to get tested for a while now. Thank you BK for setting this up.

Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
Didn’t realise results came through so quickly. My brother has just phoned to let me know he’s ok.
Hope those of you who went receive good news.
Unfortunately my test didn’t work, they couldn’t get any blood out of either arm so I have to have a test later.

For those of you who missed this marvellous event or who were unable to attend, the next event will be at Burnley Golf Club on 13th April.
Get yourselves booked on, could be the best £20 you ever spend.

Well, I didn't need a print, as they had already done one.
I struggled to get one but did.
I've now just received an email saying that they can't get a result from my blood sample, (no reason).
I have a choice of a home test or going to another venue!
That's another £27.50 or £25!
Pretty poor really.

Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
I've received my result today and it's green, surprisingly my last test was 8 years ago and somehow today's result showed a 36% reduction from my last test and the recommendation for my next test is March 2027.
Genuinely surprised by the result and also very happy.

Green result for me too - 0.63. I did get told that I was one of the youngest there at 42 years old, but it’s still reassuring nonetheless.
I hope everybody else gets on OK.

That's good Tony, do you have any idea if I will need to pay again due to this failure, bearing in mind it's not my fault.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 2:28 pmI'm getting a home test but I'm not being charged because I'd already paid for Saturday.
I might add that I tend to go each year to the Turf for a test. I've always had a low count, but because of having a couple of friends die from this terrible illness, I would rather be checked regularly. You probably knew Bickers, his passing is still in my mind.

Green for me but getting towards the top of the scale (3.6). Still ok for my age, but it's a 29% increase since my last test in 2018.
I think I'll get tested again in about 6 months time, as a further precaution.

Re: PSA Testing Saturday 23rd. Help please.
Just had an email thanking me for attending. They tested over 500 men last Saturday and 13% had a raised PSA Level that requires further investigation. That's higher than I expected and hopefully most of those will be fine.
Also, at £20 per head, they took in £10,000 but the event on the day cost the charity £15,000.
