Muric is good with his feet but his all round play is knowhere near premier league level. His temperament is so erratic it’s unreal, this will massively hinder his career prospects.
Serious question do you honestly believe Muric will end up playing top league football?
Under 21s euros is a big career achievement I’m not sure why you wouldn’t include it? England have only won it 3 times in history.

there's a reason the two most successful teams have two experienced older heads - same reason Arsenal signed Raya to replace Ramsdale who is the same age as Muric. At 25 years old Nick Pope was on our bench until Heaton's injury.
I suspect our two are some of the youngest in the league - it's not that they are or aren't good enough, in the grand scheme they just don't have anywhere near enough experience required for this level (and that includes mentality imho) - that's on the club not the players. To write a keeper off at their ages is pure madness.

How is he erratic compared to Trafford, for 28 games Trafford was a disaster and in his first prem season has been dropped for not being good enough.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:29 pmMuric is the most erratic keeper I have ever seen for us. He’s a disaster just waiting to happen. Good keepers just don’t make mistakes as regular as he does.
Winning the U21s has given Trafford a better career so far. Muric is already playing catch up. Look at this way, he’s four years younger has already won a prestigious trophy and played nearly a full season of premier league football.
Don’t get me wrong Trafford will go on to be a good keeper but I think the ability muric has means he will still go on to play in top leagues continuously and play champions league football for a team in germany for example.
Out of curiosity have you made your mind up yet who’s better out of benson, zaroury and Clarke?

I’m personally of the opinion neither are great at the moment, (defo not top level). But I suspect Trafford will go on to have a better career. He’s already ahead of Muric.
I’m pretty certain neither will end up playing regular champions league football unless at some crap team like Celtic.

So again no idea how that compares to Muric at 25. Who’s biggest achievement was not winning the golden glove in a championship winning season.

Here's the real question Newcastle'Claret'93...
Why do you only post on here either after a loss, or after there's an obvious moment to try and troll on?
Is it because... you are indeed a troll? Like, why bother?

Muric made 2 mistakes last season, Blackpool at home and you were quick to say the Trafford and brownhill incident at palace away was brownhills fault so the Blackpool at home last season is Cullens fault and then Watford at home when we was subbed at half time, they are the only 2 mistakes that lead to goals in 41 gamesNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:48 pmHonestly would take too long to go through his howlers last season.

They did, but the bulk of the trouble started in that first half when their guy was bombing those long throws in on him. Two or three reached the far post and Muric was flailing at them. We went in ahead if I recall correctly, with Benson unplayable, but the damage was done and they then exploited that lack of confidence in the second half.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:30 pmYou was in the home end at bramall lane last season? 4 of the 5 goals went in at the end where the home fans are

I argued for so long this season that changing the GK wouldn’t make a difference to losing so many games, but I didn’t expect Muric to so directly contribute to costing us points the way he has, particularly given he’s had the best chance with a relatively settled defence.

Muric has made a difference to losing games, we have lost 1 in 5, the 5 before Muric came in we lost 4 in 5 and the 5 before that we lost 3 in 5, so 7 loses in the 10 before Muric came in 3 draws. 3 points in 10 games to 6 points in 5 games, so it’s clearly made a different it’s just come 28 games to lateDarthlaw wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:57 pmGiven Aro’s two massive mistakes in five games (possibly ranked #1 & #2 in clangers this season) I would suggest pointing the finger at Trafford as a disaster is somewhat misplaced.

Fair enough, he’s been a revelation.
All we need is an attack who score enough to nullify the ones Muric directly throws in (rather than ones tenously linked to Trafford) and we’ll be sound.

The point remains (as it always has) that it’s not fair to level that Trafford has been a ‘disaster’ when our alternative has directly thrown two goals in in two games.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 10:08 pmWell yeah that would help, that Larsen miss is a shocker, not as bad as fofana against Brentford but up there, fofana another one today to
Be fair, neither have what it takes for us to be competitive in this league.

Any votes for dropping the 4 attacking players who failed again to score a goal despite umpty buckets of opportunities one against Everton would have been a draw, one today would have been a win…

Re: So do you drop Muric after two massive costly howlers?
Muric should keep his place because I don’t think Trafford will be able to cope with the physicality that Sheff Utd will bring next week, Wilder will have them really fired up for this match they will throw everything at us because a win would take them to one point behind us with a game in hand (man Utd ) and they could easily win that, that would leave us rock bottom. This match next week could end up being worse than playing City or Arsenal. Does anyone agree?

Re: So do you drop Muric after two massive costly howlers?
In my opinion we would of lost every one of the last 5 games with Trafford in goal, the Trafford experiment has been an absolute disaster and regardless of the last 2 games the first 3 games of muric in the side gave us hope and a chance of survival and had the correct keeper started the season then I think we would be in a different position. Other experiments have also backfired, like going all out attack for first few games, amdouni as a number 10 hasn’t worked. Playing pretty much every defender at left back other than our left back to start with and then the foster out wide issue. We are 33 games in and we haven’t had a single game where the best player in each position has started together

I was thinking this - is missing a sitter like Fofana & JBL did comparable with Muric's calamitous error?
One is certainly more catastrophic - that's for sure.

Embarrassing thread. Let’s pick a side and relentlessly stick to it regardless of what actually plays out in front of you. Like a bunch of infants.

The team has been stronger with Muric in it.
We'll need him next week against the pub side.

Surely he gets the same chances has Trafford, 28 games?
