Matej Vydra is playing...

Post by ecc » Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:17 pm

for Viktoria Plzen away against Fiorentina in the Conference League QFs.

He's played 21 times in the Czech league but only eight starts. Two goals, one assist.

Seven games in Conference League. No goals.

One of those players who just seemed to get setter and better in the eyes of fans the less he played.

Good player when he was here (and before). Rated him quite highly, not many others did, including the manager who had his favourites.

Criminally underused and underrated. We certainly looked a better threat and far more mobile up top when he played.

Good luck to the lad.

Made errors, no doubt. Culpable 💯 for both goals. However, he is a superb keeper, bit rusty, but superb.

Superb isn't the word I'd use, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Vydra and Wood ended up striking a good partnership at the end of the full covid season. First game of the new season at home to Brighton, Vydra back on the bench and Jay Rod and wood start.

Everytime Vydra seemed to be coming to he seemed to get injured

Not looking for a row, but what would you choose?

I am considering the whole picture, ie the saves at Chelsea the one on ones (Brentford / Chelsea) the reaction saves he makes, his distribution. Not just 2 avoidable mistakes.

Be honest.... 1 word to sum up Muric.

Was a question for Fidel, but I don't disagree. (Not a Traff disliker, just think he has a lot of developing to catch Muric).

Will always rate Vydra.

Played through a hernia for us in our relegation season. Not many players would do that.

I always recall that great goal he scored away at Southampton. Absolute wonderful technique.

You could start a thread titled Carol Vorderman or Rachel Riley? and it would end up Muric v Trafford witin ten posts!

The real question is, who would be a better Countdown presenter - Muric or JT?

Muric is the best example of this I can remember in all my years supporting the club.

I liked Vydra and he was remarkably popular for a player who rarely played and only ever had about 3 good games . Good to see him playing though and his bank balance will show what a tidy career he’s had .

His bank balance gets bigger the less he puts in it.

Don't pity me. I would just prefer a keeper who could do the basics right, that's all.

Vorders all day long for me.

...even though she's about 500 years old now.
