For us to be successful as a side at this level we need balance.

Even though people turned their noses up at him playing right midfield, Vitinho gave us balance, we seem to have stepped away from this in recent weeks by trying to shoehorn Foster and Fofana in together.

A more pragmatic number 10 in Brownhill allows more attacking wide men like in the opening post, with Odobert and Benson. Without balance we won't have enough of the ball to get the attacking players in the game.*

I expect us to line up the same as last week with only O'Shea coming in if VK feels necessary.

*Obviously if any game won't fit this narrative then that'll be Saturday as it's two poor teams with nothing to lose, could be tedious or a real end to end game.

Can't disagree with the OP however not sure how many of that team will be here next season.

The OP is being far to sensible with his team selection.
All the players chosen, playing in their obvious positions.
VK will never chose that team.
Absolutely no point in playing Fofana, so he will start.
What was a real talking point ( team selection) earlier in the season, it has become a bit ironic now.

Or perhaps Brownhill for Rodriguez?

I'd prefer the extra striker to take the load off Foster to allow him to focus on getting in behind whilst also giving us an option to hit from crosses, an extra threat from set pieces and another defender for defensive set pieces.
Also I imagine we will have at least 60 percent possession which isnt usually Brownhills type of game.

What's this about people not being here?
Most of our new signings signed long deals
Assignon will be gone and hopefully we can shift Trafford, Tressor and Roberts but apart from that everyone else will be part of our promotion winning team next season
I have wanted Benny in but playing him v Sheffield United alehouse brawlers would be a mistake. Win and its still all to play for, loose and I am afraid we have too much to do to catch up .

Is OShea available. He is according to BBC. I thought a straight red was 3 games

Depends on the offence and frequency of reds they've had in the season. I could be wrong, but I think he was sent off for denial of a goal scoring opportunity, which comes with a 1 match ban.

Happy to be corrected :D

Haven't watched much of this Sheff Utd team this year. But if they're anything like last season I'd be tempted to play Jay Rod due to his aerial ability and experience defending set pieces. At the other end he might do a better job at testing the keeper with some of these chances we've not been making the most of in the six yard box.

Foster & Fofana haven't shown enough in the last couple of games to keep their place. Give them a rest and bring them on to stretch the play later in the game.

Sure Vinny and the team will come up with something completely different, however

Hopefully we can shift Trafford? Look, I don’t wanna be rude but do you really think we would be looking to do that? You DO understand the clubs business model don’t you? We sell Trafford now, we LOSE £10m+.
Win, and it delays the inevitable. Lose and we go to the bottom, and we’ll stay there.

As for the team today…. Who knows? It’s guesswork again, the problem is trying to work out what the plan is when you look at who is selected in the position they’ve been selected in.

3 games for violent conduct, this was a denial of a goalscoring opportunity, 1 game.

I think Wo Didi will be the closest to being correct.

Possibly a bit too sensible for VK though.
