If you hadn’t had said before the match, I’d have thought he was going to sort all the Sheff fans in the top tier who were “offering us out” as they were leaving after the 3rd & 4th goals

Embarrassing that, the lad making the throat cutting motions. What a state

Re: Claret Tony
Thanks bumba. I was talking to people outside on Bramall Lane and then turned to go into the ground. As I turned I went straight into a traffic cone and fell over.
I had medical staff there very quickly and they eventually took me into the ground which is when you will have seen me. I had to walk the full length in front of the away end to get to the medical room.
I’ve got a cut on my forehead and my right wrist is very sore but the worst damage is my mouth and top lip. I was really shaken up but the medical staff were wonderful with me.
Now sat at home drinking coffee through a straw.

Could have been worse and I'm sure the win will have softened the pain!
Get a claim in it could cost them their entire transfer budget next season!!

Re: Claret Tony
I missed the first two or three minutes but other than that I saw it. My little great niece was there and really upset during the first half until I saw her at half time and reassured her that uncle Tony was fine.
I’ll be writing to Sheffield United to thank them. They looked after me superbly.

Those Yorkshire Traffic cones are notoriously bad! Not sure they're keen on 'reet' Lancashire folk.
Walked into one doing my weekly shop on the Moor in Sheffield only last week. They've a life of their own.

These things are supposed to keep us safe… I have the same issue with the cleaner at my work. She leaves the plastic “Caution: Slippy Floor” signs in doorways and at the top of stairs. They are accidents waiting to happen when you're carrying stuff or not paying attention. The floors are not even slippy.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:14 pmThanks bumba. Anyway, I'm glad you are ok and I hope your great niece looks after you during your recovery. A letter to the staff at Brammal Lane will be greatly welcomed I'm sure.

Maybe they should start doing warning posters for the warning signs on the floor.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:35 pmThese things are supposed to keep us safe… I have the same issue with the cleaner at my work. Glad you’re ok Tony
My dad nearly went flying walking around the barriers getting to the turnstiles
On on side they were “flat” but as you went around the end one, the base stuck quite a way out and he tripped over it. Luckily I was alongside him and managed to hold him up

At least I missed that. I wasn’t officially inside the ground today, my ticket was never scanned. The steward who took me from the medical centre to my seat said he should have taken me back out to come in but said to just go to my seat.wilks_bfc wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:44 pmGlad you’re ok Tony

My pet hate! These things are way more dangerous than the floor will ever be. Ironically, the cleaners are obliged to leave them due to H & S regs.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:35 pmThese things are supposed to keep us safe… I have the same issue with the cleaner at my work. Hope you feel better soon, I know what’s it’s like, a few weeks ago i was walking home and took a shortcut in the dark across some rough ground, there was some electrical wire on the path which I tripped over. It took me about 3 days to get over it. The downside of getting old.

Experienced exactly the same when waking straight into a concrete pillar after having been distracted.
Glad you are fine now

Re: Claret Tony
That is horrendous. Keep a close observation on your mouth. I had a scooter crash which threw me to the ground, right on my face. Felt my teeth get re-arranged in the process. They weren't, however, it shook them up and I have lost 3 since!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:14 pmThanks bumba. At least I had a black coat on yesterday. Not sure if any blood landed on it but it wouldn’t have been a good look on yellow.
