I would be very surprised if Brighton would go for him.In case Roberto De Zerbi decided to leave Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of the season, #BHAFC officials already identified a number of potential successors whom… Vincent Kompany !
Been told informal talks have already taken place with trainer’s side to know If a departure from Burnley was a possibility.
With this in mind, Clarets already begun talks with several intermediaries to sound out the coaching market in the event of Vince The King's departure.
Nothing done yet! But the musical chairs in the coaching sector could be in for a few surprises! Wait&See

Would be interested to get the thoughts of the 'Kompany Out' brigade on another Premier League club wanting to poach VK.
Let's hope he's still as invested in the 5 year project as he was when turning down potential suitors last season.

In some circumstances. I doubt we'd be able to sell it as a good move to the players who have been brought here under the impression of playing a certain way.

Moyes would be a step backwards in footballing terms in my opinion. A manager that deserves a lot of respect. But would be surprised if our board wanted someone of his style and profile.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Given how unlikely it seems we will be successful in our plan of selling off young players to turn profits, perhaps it would be some consolation to get a fee for the young manager.
Re: Kompany to Brighton?
The move would be a big opportunity for VK and he'd be wise to take it too progress.
He gained promotion in style then messed up massively last summer resulting in blowing out budget, leaving us with some players not up to standard and relegation.
If BHA take a gamble on him after that then he would be wise to take it as that opportunity may not arise again if he doesn't return at the 1st attempt.
He could go to an established premier league club who could play his style straight away and make him look good.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
He’d do incredibly well at a side like Brighton, his coaching is made for better technical players.
Not easy getting some of our awful technical players to play football, you can lead a horse to water and all that…

Which part is daft? He’s been forced into playing dross like Taylor at fullback in the PL because the board didn’t sign the players he wanted.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Sounds like Sacha is stirring up the market for him.
Anyone with any character, especially at that young managerial age, would stay to rectify their huge errors this season, we could all name several: leaving out Taylor, summer recruitment, Muric, not anticipating Foster’s risk of absence, tactics, subs, weird selections, too early pre season. For that reason he'll blot his copybook if he goes and leaves us in the lurch.
In football though, nothing surprises me.

£125m spend and he chose not to buy a new left back.
You seriously blaming the board ?
Did they not give him enough money ?

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Whether it is true or not regarding Brighton, what seems to be accurate is that Kompany has some links to Tovolieri, or possibly his agent does. Last summer we had this with the links to Spurs (then Chelsea?) in advance of him signing his big new contract, now we have this. Does it imply Kompany fancies leaving us and is getting his name out there? I hope not considering the squad is designed in his image and he has spoken often of 'next season' regardless of division. The club and fans have stuck by him when many, many would not.
I merely speculate based on....this speculation. Let's hope there is nothing in it.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
He will hand a list and rely on others bringing them in. He wasn’t given a left back, or a right back for 6 months.
Re: Kompany to Brighton?
You don’t think he wanted two full backs? The board did not deliver them. No point speculating on why, just stick to the fact the board did not deliver.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 2:40 pmWho forced him to do that ?

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Everyone seemed to fall into the trap of clinging onto every single word Sacha said in the summer of 2022 because he tweeted out about a couple of signings. Journalist based in Belgium had no idea we were signing Vitinho and cullen, jumped on the benson deal. Claimed kompany was talking to spurs then signed a new deal and then in January the embarrassing about of tweets about benson and zaroury, he couldn’t make his mind up which clubs there were both going tojedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 2:45 pmWhether it is true or not regarding Brighton, what seems to be accurate is that Kompany has some links to Tovolieri, or possibly his agent does. Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Every manager has a favourite reporter. Could easily be some leverage for renegotiation of a relegation clause, something to ease the financial pain of a relegation. Agents get up to all sorts. I don’t read anything into it. But there is a time and place to move on from, this isn’t it.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Would be the kind of profile of manager that you would imagine Brighton are looking at.
You would also imagine that Brighton, being a relatively well-run club, would be looking at the various options and seeing who might be available if De Zerbi leaves.
So this story sounds completely feasible to me.
This story about 'conversations' and 'options' being feasible doesn't, of course, mean it is going to happen.
I would imagine Brighton will have had conversations with others too.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
It certainly doesn't feel like the 'natural' time for VK to leave. Still lots of work to be done. Good points made about the timing of his contract renewal last year off the back of links to Spurs/Chelsea.
Any young, 'up and coming' manager, or anyone representing someone with a profile such as VK's would be foolish not to use links with journalists to boost their reputation and their bargaining position even in the absence of a desire to leave their current club. Let's hope it is just that.

How can anyone say VK is hampered by poor technical players when he signed 10 of the starting 11 on Saturday
Seems like he fits the profile of a Brighton manager but I'll be surprised if he goes there after the season we have had.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if we had to change manager this summer. We already have far too many players (many of whom are clearly not what's needed) and a new one would want to bring in many more? It's financial high stakes stuff and we are already well in debt.
VK performed miracles to begin with and then lost the plot. He's too big a risk for BHA imo. Therefore, for his sake and ours, he needs to stay and prove himself again. Although, there may be some on the Board that might think getting compo for him would be appropriate.

Not so sure that's the setup that VK wants to be in, I can't see Bloom/Brighton affording him the same level of involvement/responsibility/influence that he does here at Burnley, although it's definitely the calibre of club VK would probably be interested in.
I think this could all be hot air though - time will tell.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Clubs can approach clubs for permission to speak to their manager. That’s the theory but definitely not the reality. Usually the formal approach comes once a manager has agreed the move.
We spoke to Coyle long before we asked St Johnstone for permission to speak to him and we all know that Bolton did likewise. Same with Howe and Bournemouth.

Re: Kompany to Brighton?
Sacha says Brighton have had conversations with VK's 'entourage' - which I presume means his agent.
Again, doesn't mean he's leaving. But sounds completely possible to me that they have explored a potential scenario with VK's people.

Maybe wishful thinking more than anything but also hard to see how they keep emulating their current success if they keep losing managers.
Hoping one of the reasons we signed Kompany is that he’s shown unbelievable loyalty to his two clubs so I’m hoping that means he’ll see the bigger picture of the success longevity can bring.

You need to look up the definition of ‘fact”…..you are making a massive assumption that it’s the board who did not deliver.
Where is it you have got this theory from that the board was picking the players and not VK ?
Maybe reduce the number of wingers we bought from 23 to 22 and get a left back ?

I reckon Tavolieri was ok when he was getting info from Belgium clubs on transfers, but he appears to have tried to followed in the footsteps of Romano of late and branch out into wider football news.
As a result half of the what he says appears to be absolute ********.
