Quite interesting, everything is always geared up to yhe big clubs. That said if you are a big city club with big gates and the turnover that brings including more TV money then you can see their side of it as well.

Why not use the American idea where the position you finish means you get to chose players so the 3 teams from the championship would get to pick a player each from all teams in prem then 17th 16th etc so winner gets last picked player then it starts again for 7 rounds. making it a more equal compertion each year. Not sure top 2 or 3 clubs would want it when you think they could lose 20 x7 = 140 of thier palyers have now gone

From reading the article this cap is almost meaningless if set at five times the lowest income - £518 million.
Only one club breached that rule - Chelsea - and that is if the calculations are based on one season as opposed to the usual spread of the fee over a number of seasons.
And surely unprincipled clubs would find some way around this - loan fees for example.
