The sound of Bells on Christmas Eve...
A lady from Harrogate has suggested the Nation rings bells for 2 minutes on Christmas Eve. It is to let all of the World's lonely and old people know we are thinking of them. ( I can almost hear you replies )
However, it would also be really magical for the children in your neighbourhood!
ps. the Harrogate lady will no doubt be rattling her jewellery!

Re: The sound of Bells on Christmas Eve...
How will the lonely and old people know the bells are for them? And who owns a bell?
Not for me thanks, I'm not into this organised clapping, pan hitting or bell ringing.

I own a bell that I used to take on the Turf and went to Wembley in 1962.

People need something to replace the dearth of meaning and religion in their lives.
Ringing bells? Why not.
Deifying à system of healthcare provision? Definitely.
The woke shall inherit the world.
Blessed are the key workers.

I’m sure there are Bell sounds on your mobile phones and even a quick Google search will produce records of bells. Anything that tinkles will do!

This will go down like the Titanic in Nelson
There was lots of wingers of a non Christian nature re noisy bells on Sunday
I personally like bells and it's my big regret I didn't join my village bell ringers when asked in the past.

I have hyper sensitive cringe reflex syndrome. For that reason, I’m out.

No. In the early sixties in the Cricket Field End there were two of us with bells.

Re: The sound of Bells on Christmas Eve...
I had a new front door fitted over two years ago and still haven’t got round to getting a bell. I don’t hear people at the door now if I’m upstairs.
Re: The sound of Bells on Christmas Eve...
Not always a bad thing CT. our Dougal (the dog) goes MENTAL anytime anyone rings the bell... everytime he does I mean to disconnect it but never do... job for next yearClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 9:33 pmI had a new front door fitted over two years ago and still haven’t got round to getting a bell. Well for the grumps on here, our little ones went to the door and rang theirs and had smiles on their faces. Magic of Christmas and all that.

We don't have a bell, we have 2 springer spaniels that let us know if anyone walks past the house nevermind knocks on the door..
