Is there any point? May as well wait till next season when there's no reason why there shouldn't be maximum away followings.

God this has been to death. The sooner they do test events and pilots the sooner we can get back to capacity.

Of course everyone would prefer a full house. But they won’t go from 0 to 90,000 in a week.

I wonder what the supporters buses would do for this?

Normal buses seem to be alright with one person sat on their own with a space next to them, so half the capacity of the bus. Would this mean double the coach cost for each passenger to ensure the usual costs are covered?

Also, would the coach organiser be guaranteed a ticket? You’d assume he wouldn’t want to go all that way and just sit on the bus while everyone else goes on the match.

Or would they simply not run coaches until games are back to full away capacity?

I don't really want to go to the Turf until it's allowed full capacity, to get the proper match day experience we've missed.

But if I could get a ticket for Sheff United away I'd definitely go.

It won’t feel right until I get my normal match routine back, ie beers in crooked billet, bus there and back, celebratory drink after.

A test event in May for a season starting in August won’t tell anyone much. If things continue to go in the right direction then we’ll have been restriction free for nearly two months by the start of the season.

People worrying about being close.

There was a full on rave in Liverpool last night. Indoors.

If that's successful then get the country open fully.

So three months later we’d hope that the situation is miles better. Meaning that we’ve planned for a worse case. Sounds sensible to me.

The thing I'd like to know is how easy will it be to get tested before every game for thousands of people who want to attend matches next season.

It’s great that the test event results seem to be encouraging so far.

This “rave” weekend in Liverpool this weekend looks to be a big one, let’s hope the trend continues.

I won’t be able to be on the Turf this season but I really hope some are.

To say thousands of school kids are getting tested twice a week and the government are begging everyone else to have one, I would say easy.

Don't think it's realistic to expect people to provide a negative test before every single game.

Yep - limit of 10,000 though and not sure if that is where that number exceeds a % of the capacity of the ground.

From 17 May, outdoor sports venues in England are due to be allowed up to 10,000 fans or 25% capacity, whichever figure is lower.

Why would anyone want to go and watch a game in a 3/4 empty stadium. Not what its about for me. Its much more than the live 90 minutes.

Without checking I'd guess some early home cup ties have been pretty low and close to that over the last 20 years?

Never stopped me wanting to go on because the crowd was low, our recent cup performances under Dyche maybe 😬

I guess you never went on t'Turf in the 80s or 90s? Lot's of stadiums with large capacity, but now lower leagues, would be happy to be 25% full on match day.

And sometimes in 1986/87 Turf Moor was less than a tenth full.

Bit of a surprise is today's news because they were planning to allow a small number of away fans to attend

Imagine having to moderate a forum after losing at home to 9 man Rochdale, or conceding 5 at home in division 4 when you consider the reaction to losing a game in the top flight against sides with far more resources

Meant in terms of not being able to sit next to your mate and all spread out etc,

We didn't sit on those days, so that was a difference, but I do take your point, the fans will be kept at a distance from each other for the Liverpool game I would imagine.

As has been said many times. We aren’t going to go from no fans to full capacity and no measures.

It’s the first step on getting to the latter. Great news.

I have been waiting for over a year to be able to go to Turf Moor, if the attendance was limited to just 1 person in each stand I would be overjoyed to get one of those places.

This game is just a one-off and the crowd will be similar to an early round League Cup tie which is almost always played in a 3/4 empty stadium.

"Why would anyone want to go....."
Maybe because some of us are desperate to be able to shout for our team once again!
