Re: Today's Games
A cleverly disguised attempt by de Ligt but not clever enough. Byeeee.

Re: Today's Games
I expected Holland to smash these 8-0 after hearing all the messageboard bores bleat on about easy our group was and how ordinary and poor Croatia and the Czechs are.
Re: Today's Games
yeah and how great the Dutch and Italy were for romping the groups in glorious fashion!!Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:16 pmI expected Holland to smash these 8-0 after hearing all the messageboard bores bleat on about easy our group was and how ordinary and poor Croatia and the Czechs are.
Re: Today's Games
Even the worst team in the tournament England beat these Czechs easy, without breaking sweat

Re: Today's Games
Yeah what I mean is rather than handle it it seemed like he could have just fallen on the ball in an attempt to prevent the Czech player from getting to it.

Re: Today's Games
De Ligt was unluckily losing his footing, but a definite red, and with the aid of VAR they finally got the correct decision, big chance for the Czechs now.

Re: Today's Games
Big, big, big ifs but if this stays the same and if we manage to beat Germany then Austria, Czech Republic, Sweden and Ukraine is all that stands between us and the final
Time left in this game and Germany is about as tough as it will get but what a chance

Re: Today's Games
Denmark, not Austria. And I reckon the Danes will fancy making the final now. But yeah, we have one huge game to give us a great shot of the final. I reckon the Germans will be licking their lips too.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:29 pmBig, big, big ifs but if this stays the same and we manage to beat Germany then Austria, Czech Republic, Sweden and Ukraine is all that stands between us and the final

Re: Today's Games
How did pub team England with the binman manager Southgate manage to beat these Czechs without breaking a sweat?
Re: Today's Games
Is this the same Southgate who managed Middlesbrough 13 years ago?

Re: Today's Games
Id like to find a team who can keep this Czech team quiet. The manager would have to be some kind of tactical genius

Re: Today's Games
there was something in one of the papers during the week where some sort of nonsense computer predicted that the Czechs would win the tournament !Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:39 pmId like to find a team who can keep this Czech team quiet. Re: Today's Games
Paul passed away in 2010, only a few months after the World Cup finished. They say it’s hard for psychic octopuses to adjust to life after predicting on the world’s largest stage.

Clever team, the Czechs. Never tried to lay a glove on England in the second half. Choice between playing the Germans or not. They knew exactly what they were doing .

Re: Today's Games
The Dutch looked a very average outfit to me. Sending off changed the game but the Czechs were well in the game before then and really went for the kill.
Re: Today's Games
Aye course you do, you were criticizing England for winning ugly in the group stage and then praising Italy for winning ugly yesterday. Then you were telling us all Germany will beat England and are huge favorites while saying if England lose it's a failure.

Now for a massive game, I'll go with 3-1 Portugal with a Ronaldo hattrick...
