Exactly.... Unfortunately some people think they have the right to know everything that goes on at the club.... Next we'll be having a vote if someone should stay or goclarethomer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:16 pmNew owners have come in. They are making changes to best structure the club to best support their business plans. Nothing more/less is going on.
Whilst not officially communicated it is believed that a few of the more prominent names associated with the club have either left or are in the process of leaving their roles. There have been a number of roles advertised publically to so we can see where recruitment is taking place and getting a bit of an insight into where the club is looking to invest.
I'm not sure what business it is of ours, as fans, to have any knowledge of the coming and goings of operational staff who predominantly are behind the scenes to support the running of the club and why we should expect the club to communicate on every facet of the running of the club just because someone thinks on here that its their right to know.
You have to consider that IF people are being affected by the changes at the club, whether it be redundancy, contracts not renewed etc - there are people involved with this and outside HR laws/general privacy and confidentiality considerations; these individuals who may come to expect, or may not want, their careers being discussed in public etc.

None of these changes are controversial. I would imagine most fans on a match day wouldn’t give a flying that the technical director and media manager have been potted. They’ll both walk into decent roles due to contacts etc.

I too like Darren. He should still have a place at the club. However, his skills and strengths were not a match for a Premier League club’s work particularly given the fact he seemed to have to wear many hats and needed much more support that he was given in terms of a media team he should have been a part of.

Well, either he chose to leave, was dismissed as the club wanted to go a different direction, was dismissed for gross misconduct, left for ill health or a mixture of both. Not much drama there bar gross misconduct, that I am not at all entertaining.

Re: Mike Rigg (and Darren Bentley) leaving?
Just for balance, I had the complete opposite experience. Several years ago they ran a feature in the prog of claret fans around the world. I sent one in of myself in Kuala Lumpur that appeared as ‘photo of the week’. No one contacted me, I found out months later from a friend who noticed it in an old prog. It also said I was supposed to get a signed photo from a player of my choice, which I wasn’t bothered about, but again there was no contact from the club.FCBurnley wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 2:28 pmThank You Darren Bentley
I live in America. When we played Aberdeen at home somebody emailed me to say that the match day prog contained a photo that I was on. Needless to say I wanted to get a copy of it for my collection But sadly they were sold out and I could not find one for sale anywhere. My last resort was to email Darren Bentley. He emailed back immediately to say there Was not a single copy available at the club. Obvious I had offered to buy the prog and pay for delivery to America. He just said let me see what I can do. Within a week I had my prog delivered free of charge I believe it was his personal copy. Now that’s what I call going above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks again Darren and all the very best for the future
I’m not saying Bentley is bad, good or indifferent but that was my only experience with him.

Re: Mike Rigg (and Darren Bentley) leaving?
I thought SD had said that there was a new transfer recruitment group set up at the club which was to bring closer collaboration and cohesion between all the various parties and perhaps the individuals leaving did not back the new approach or were not happy the way recruitment is going in this window. Has SD signed his new deal yet or could this also be a further casualty down the line ?

Thanks CT I stand corrected. I still wonder though why so many changes are taking place as it would appear there maybe some dissention going on.

Re: Mike Rigg (and Darren Bentley) leaving?
Hi LaLiga, I've no knowledge of staffing matters at the club. However, new owners came in in January. They've expressed new plans/ambitions for the direction of the club. We've seen some of this with new commercial arrangements and changes around Turf Moor for match days. It would be surprising if Alan Pace didn't also feel the need to re-fresh the club's "back room" staff - as well as expressing support for Sean Dyche in investing in the playing side. We've seen a few back-room jobs advertised. I don't think we need to think of anyone dissenting about the direction of the club - that's, of course, for the directors to decide. I don't think we need to think that anyone who leaves during this process has been found to be "under-performing" in their job. I wish everyone who is moving on well and success whatever they do next. I also wish good luck to any new staff joining the club in the weeks and months ahead - and success across all areas of the club.LaLigaClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 4:13 pmThanks CT I stand corrected. Be interesting to see how he does outside of his comfort zone.
The whole club needed freshening up. It’s obviously annoyed a few people in the short term but we need to kick on.

I hope the new person will use the club accounts to communicate about the club, and not their own.

Darren Bentley will be a great asset for Everton. He is very, very highly regarded by his colleagues in the media. They were even talking about him on 5Live this evening.

Re: Mike Rigg (and Darren Bentley) leaving?
Its curious to see how our former comms man is apparently regarded by people in the media, yet also see how the club has been sneered at at times in those same outlets.
Maybe he was a little too chummy to pull them up on it?
