The noise when he saved the penalty was as loud as anything I've ever heard at a game of football, including Sir Robbie & Michael Keane vs M'boro

Reading back through this thread I can see your a Farrell fan....no shame in that...he's still not good enough though...Leeds sussed him out and robbed us of whatever we paid for him..
Re: BPF!!!
Why do some think he won’t play for us again? I’ve read he was at fault today for the Ipswich goal but so was a keeper a little closer to home so what exactly is the issue here?

Re: BPF!!!
I love the irrational views. Burnley who have a pretty good track record with goalies thought he was worth buying as prospect for the future. At the end of last season he played a couple of games where he was less than stellar but so were many players. On the basis of this some armchair experts think he will never play for Burnley again. Really! Good performances for NI and Sheff We’d don’t count only the mistakes and errors. All players make mistakes, even the best keepers. I am not sure whether he will make the grade or not but I would rather trust the option of Mercer and Dyche rather than some idiots on here!

To be fair, why didn’t a defender communicate or run back to tell him or expose the attacker.
It’s a mistake he won’t make again though.

I went to the game - he had nothing to do for most of the match and then dropped a big one! Was actually a good game and a fair result. 21,388 attendance which isn’t too shabby.

Re: BPF!!!
It’s not a run of mistakes that define a goalkeeper but how they react and learn from them. I remain very much in the wait and see camp… Hennessy has had a couple of periods where he was viewed as a clown keeper…. But I was still delighted when we got him; football is all about confidence, especially for Goalkeepers, BPF has time.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:55 pmMade a great start for them but it's three or four matches now where he's cost them.

Re: BPF!!!
The guy is garbage.
Now making errors every week in League One!
To answer someone’s question further back on the thread about why he’s still with us... I’d say one of the following two reasons:
A) Nobody wanted to waste money on him
B) Kept him so he could be a backup in the Championship if we are relegated this season

What is the Wednesday right back doing? Constantly looking at BPF but only when he drops the ball does he start pointing that the Ipswich player is behind him.

What I don't understand is why so many Burnley supporters, on a BFC message board, delight in seeing one of our players do badly.

Whether BPF is fully to blame or not, which I agree he is, the question is still there, why is the right back looking at it and not saying anything?djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 7:41 pmDon’t even try to blame the right back. Peacock-Farrell must take all the blame for that calamitous goal.

The right back is looking at the ball and most likely expecting Peacock-Farrell to throw it out to him.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:41 pmWhether BPF is fully to blame or not, which I agree he is, the question is still there, why is the right back looking at it and not saying anything?
I suspect he didn’t say anything as he can’t believe any half decent keeper would be that moronic to not check who was around him before putting the ball on the floor.

That’s out of order. Maybe any half decent keeper at any level would expect his half decent defenders to give him an alert ?djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 4:14 amThe right back is looking at the ball and most likely expecting Peacock-Farrell to throw it out to him.

It was bad but he recovered well.
From these highlights it looks like he is behind a pretty awful defence.

Bad logic. Explain how you can ‘know’ something that hasn’t happened? You may ‘assume’ but that is not the same thing.Local cricketer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 10:21 pmI know BFC won’t be premier league next. I can accept that
And speaking of assumptions are we now to assume that you are hoping for relegation so that your ‘knowledge’ becomes fact?

Out of interest, have you seen any of our U23 goalkeepers?
There isn't much coming up behind him, I can assure you.
Jensen, probably our best last year, can't get a game for Carlisle!

I like the look of young Casper from what I’ve seen but he’s very young. BPF’s career follows a similar path at every club he’s been at, he’s drops clangers

You may, or may not, agree but i think we have a bit of a goalkeeping problem at present.

A goalkeeping problem that starts at the top with the current number 1. I agree with you in a way because I’ve never rated Hennessy who fair enough played well at Newcastle and Norris who we saw last season was well short. Hopefully Pope gets back to form very soonboatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 10:11 pmSo would you care to tell us which games you've seen involving Casper? It can't be many.

Hennessey has had a somewhat checkered career
BPF certainly not ready, and Norris never will be.
Apart from that

someone famous giving a lecture was credited with writing out the nine times table on board in a full lecture hall vertically, his last bit had 9 X 10 = 91.
There was immediate laughter and people pointing out his mistake, when things went quiet, he said, human nature, funny thing, I get 9 things right but make a mistake on the last one. Everyone very quick to laugh and point out my mistake but no one points to the 9 things I did correctly.

Re: BPF!!!
I agree Kate.
However, for a goalkeeper, you need those with the lowest error rate, as their errors costs many points over a season.
There must be something with Bailey PF, at the moment and Burnley decided games will make or break that trait.
Fingers crossed he returns at his peak.

Sounds like Bailey performed fine in Wednesday's 2-1 win at Wigan last night, beaten only by a late spot kick.
