Women's team not playing at accy now?
Not seen anything of an explanation so just wondering what's gone on there then?

ZizkovClaret -----I live well away from the area and have no idea exactly whether or not anything has happened, however, on looking at the upcoming fixtures, it appears that they will be playing some matches at the WHAM Stadium ---see link

Looks like they will be moving about for some home games Zizkov ... Accys will probably have commitments meaning their pitch cannot be used all the timeŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 6:01 pmNot seen anything of an explanation so just wondering what's gone on there then?

Accrington we’re scheduled to play 3 home games this week (Sat, Tues, Sat), although the game this Saturday has been already been postponed
Maybe they thought a 4th game in a week or 2 games in 2 days, would have been too much for the pitch

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Probably finding it too expensive to play there if they're not attracting many fans.
They paid Padiham 200 quid pitch hire, which jumped up to 1000 a game at Accy.
A lot of money to find if they are self sufficient.

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Just about to KO against Brighouse with Burnley on a good run now.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Brighouse blow their penalty well wide so still 0-0.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
How some of the throw ins are allowed from Brighouse I don't know.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Brighouse hit the post.

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Brighouse look dangerous every time they come forward now.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
12 minutes left and still 0-1 down.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Burnley nearly get the equaliser.
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Brighouse nearly got a second goal on the break.
90 minutes nearly up but about 5 mins time to be added at a guess.

Don’t think we’d have scored if we’d played till midnight
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
True, they did defend very well Brighouse especially after they scored.

Brighouse looked good, I thought. One or two from that team we should be after. Deserved the win.

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Might as well move the full club to Leyland.
It's nonsense our teams playing so far away from the town.
Distance the pitch on the hall side of the river from the official training ground and put some seating around it. Make it a separate ground with a decent pitch and let all teams play there.
Allowing a few local fans to attend more often.

Just the 23 miles from the actual town then.
Seems odd to be trying to build them up whilst making them play so far away.

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
I guess if there is genuine interest the club could put a coach on to and from games from the Turf or the Bus Station?agreenwood wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:48 amJust the 23 miles from the actual town then.

Yeah, good idea. I’m all for making it a real ballache to attract interest when building a brand.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:54 amI guess if there is genuine interest the club could put a coach on to and from games from the Turf or the Bus Station?
At least they’ll know the smattering of fans they get have a genuine interest in the team tho.

Sometimes people don't decide until the "last minute"
We've already seen from comments about tonight's game, with people deciding to go but now not bothering due to the on-day price increase

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
I've no interest in the women's team but I'm told the numbers watching them now are much lower. I can confirm that very few go to the u23 games at Leyland. We played one on the Turf recently on a Friday night and had a lot more watching. The next one on the Turf was suddenly shunted to Gawthorpe behind closed doors.agreenwood wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:58 amYeah, good idea. As for the facilities at Leyland, I've no idea what they are like for players and officials but nothing to write home about for spectators.

Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
That pitch at Leyland is getting some use
Re: Women's team not playing at accy now?
Always been a really good surface from personal experience but I’m not sure how much it was used at the times I’ve been on it.
United women were critical of the pitch in the FA Cup tie last year.

This is why lower league team should be allowed artificial surfaces, they could make a lot of extra income from the higher tier sides playing their development teams.

Don’t know how often it’s being used now but Blackburn use it for academy games as well.
