Re: Missing kick off again
As one of the turnstiles for the NSU was closed on Saturday, which obviously increased the length of the queues, I'd like to be the first to go on record in blaming the supporters for not arriving at the ground earlier.
Thank you.
Thank you.

You guys are going to have to get to the turnstiles a couple of hours before kick off, it's your own fault you missed the kick off.

Re: Missing kick off again
We were there earlier than usual tonight but the queues were very long. Lots of people coming in late.
Re: Missing kick off again
Still streaming in up to 15 mins after kick off in the Longside Upper.
Something needs sorting.

It's farcical but it's not just tonight it's every week, the new system introduced in the summer is worse than the last one, it's plain to see.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:46 pmWe were there earlier than usual tonight but the queues were very long. Lots of people coming in late.
Add in QR codes tonight and it's a recipe for disaster.

What on earth is going on with the turnstiles?
Arrived 30 mins before kickoff, and the queues for North Stand (is that it’s name now? )were enormous! We missed the start and people were coming in for a good 15 minutes after kickoff.

Re: Missing kick off again
People still coming into the Longside upper and taking their seat at 20:05 tonight. Crazy to miss nearly 25% of the game.
Queues for turnstiles, poorly lit perimeter, crowded concourses.
Maybe Alan pace or Doug Metcalfe should try taking a game in each stand to properly understand the fans experience.
I know it’s unrelated but Turf Moor is one giant advertisement now. Bombarded with them across every stand. Football may be abit iffy but atleast we can Bet Victor, followed by Bet 365 ad nauseam.

The queue in front of me seemed to be continuously delayed because people didn't have their QR codes ready at the turnstile. When I finally fgot to the front it took about 2 seconds to gain entry. Not sure show this gets sorted mind you bar people gradually getting it into their heads what they need to have ready at the turnstile.

Re: Missing kick off again
It's every bit as bad for league games when I suspect, less people are using the QR codes. We've started going in earlier now simply to ensure we make kick off.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:15 pmThe queue in front of me seemed to be continuously delayed because people didn't have their QR codes ready at the turnstile. The issue with QR codes is that most people buy for more than one person.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:15 pmThe queue in front of me seemed to be continuously delayed because people didn't have their QR codes ready at the turnstile. They then have to access their email again to get the next QR code in the list and so on, add to this each person has to pass the phone to their pal who is in the queue with them.
Ideally each person has access to the email on their own phone but this just doesn't happen often enough.
It's a disaster.

Re: Missing kick off again
We had that issue last season when we were allowed on the Liverpool game. I had three QR codes on one email on my phone. This season for the two cup ties I've had my own seat so it's gone on my card. What is concerning is that the club were made aware of the issues after the Brighton game in August but they haven't said one single word on it while the problems continue.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:23 pmThe issue with QR codes is that most people buy for more than one person.

Had exactly this issue. My kid went through then in passing the phone back to me sent the email to my junk folder. Had to step aside and let people on whilst I retrieved it. Maybe it should be more like an app like a boarding pass where you download it to a wallet. Also had no internet access as 4g was useless.
Ultimately my fault as I should have saved the qr codes better on a more manageable way.

Or… when I eventually sorted it for me and my dad he was able to let us through together. Why not one qr code for multiple people.

Like many things in our society technology at football is a good way forward but organisations have to make sure they can avoid leaving people behind - these problems were all predictable and now there are senior people recruited the club needs to quickly iron them out, so easy to do with good supporter engagement coupled with good, efficient staff.
Otherwise we have a two tier system - not so much the haves and have nots, more the can and cannots.

Just saying that I had a different experience at The Bob Lord Stand. No queues at all. Maybe the old codgers like myself are coping better than some would have thought. You know, Bob Lord Stand and all that. I put the times to save folk asking me what time I had arrived. If that’s ok Goody?

Do the QR codes work? Yes
Do they work in a time sensitive situation? Absolutely not

Re: Missing kick off again
The tickets are available on the BFC app and appear exactly like you suggest. If you have multiple tickets all you have to do is swipe from one to the next.Longsidebovril wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:32 pmHad exactly this issue. Re: Missing kick off again
The one that had been place for years, it was upgraded recently, it's much slower.
The issues tonight aren't relevant to a normal league game, as very few people are trying to get in with a QR code.
I asked a steward a couple of games ago and he said it takes slightly longer per entry, by the time you get to the peak times (15 to 20 minutes before kick off) the queues keep growing as the system can't get people in quick enough, the club have improved things by making them worse.

Well I was in the Bob Lord for this game and no problems at all getting in. About the only thing that went well. Hint you can print the qr codes and they scan much better.

First thing related to QR codes - take a screen shot beforehand. Same with travelling through airports, why rely on the Internet or searching through emails, they work whatever the situation.
The queues are ridiculous, something is clearly wrong. Ironically the longest queues used to be at the Cricketfield stand and now there are none?!??!

That's valid but the issue here is there are quite a few people who aren't as confident as others with technology, they are the ones getting into problems at the turnstiles.Loyalclaret wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 1:30 amFirst thing related to QR codes - take a screen shot beforehand. You ask them to take a screenshot to use at the turnstile and they'll say, a what shot?

Has anyone with Twitter linked this thread to AlanPaceBFC? Just a thought. I only have Twitter for my business.
Re: Missing kick off again
I got mine and a concession via email, I printed the QR codes out and gav' e my lad one and we didnt have a problem, didn't need my phone. We were in the Longside upper and the queues were short at 7:25. I guess that shortly after that people who were unable to get there early enough due to circumstances all turned up at once because they were still piling in 15 mins after kick off...something needs sorting.
Re: Missing kick off again
I used the qr code on my phone at turnstile n on longside. It just wouldn’t be read. I had to show steward e mail confirming ticket and he let me in. In future I will always print off.

Got to JHU upper 20 mins before kick off. No problem with QR codes. Got my seat in plenty of times. As I climbed the steps I looked out and noticed loads of people arriving late to the turnstiles. Just get there at a reasonable time.

With 18 minutes to go until kick off we were stood on the red arrow line, as were the back of every single other queue waiting to get into the JHU. We were literally up against the gym walls. The queue length started to increase further.

We switched stands last night from Bob Lord to JHU and had match tickets, one of our group asked steward what queue and he said any of the middle ones will be ok, we got to front of J only to be refused entry on scan and he said we would have to go to turnstile K as on ticket. At half time queues for drinks were massive so we didn’t bother and club missed out on sales there.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 12:38 amBring back match tickets... or is that too controversial?

I didn't realise match tickets were still being issued, but several kiosks were closed in the JML which resulted in large queues at half time. I'm still waiting for response to the 'investigation' of two turnstiles for the Longside Upper Tier being shut in 2016 for the Liverpool home game, the queues were massive and there were at least a thousand people (probably more) that missed the early Sam Vokes goal.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 9:28 pmThe current situation has again been reported to the club by Burnley FC Supporters Groups. Turnstiles being shut doesn't happen every week but it seems to be at least once a season causing major disruption, there is no excuse for this at all.
