Don't need to look at any photo.... At 1.30pm I was stuck in traffic outside the gates to townley.. It was heavy snowRowls wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 5:36 pmIt was not snowing heavily by that stage and it would have demonstrated the forecast (that the snow would die down then stop) was very probably correct.
Waiting half an hour would have been enough to say the pitch could be cleared without worrying about it falling faster than it could be cleared and the game could have been prepared for a 3pm KO.
Just take a look at the picture of the blue sky and sunshine that was the scene by that time.
MATCH OFF.

Re: MATCH OFF.
I left the ground at 2pm, the snow was vary light when I left.
By the time I was around Sainsbury’s 30 minutes later it had almost stopped.
At 2,45 I was home and it had stopped.
Game could easily have kicked of at 3pm
The rain radar on my weather showed that was exactlY what was going to happen.

At 2.30pm the weather had improved markedly and the snow stopped not long after that.

So they'd only have to wait 30 minutes to confirm the game could go ahead at 3pm.
The stated reason for calling the game off was that it was falling faster than could be removed from the pitch. This was only true for a few minutes at the height of the snow.
It was wrong to make the decision at that point based on the conditions as they were for only a very brief period.
Nobody sensible would argue the decision could not have been delayed.

Premier League matches just don't EVER get called off! It's embarrassing tbh and had it been live on tele I'm convinced they'd have played (and that says it all imo!)

Re: MATCH OFF.
Just got back from Leicester v Watford. Cold and cloudy at kick-off then after about 25 minutes the first snow flurries started which soon became a fairly strong snow fall for the rest of the game (the car had about 4 inches of snow when we got out). Visibility during most of the game was poor, as was the handling of the ball by players. Because of the visibility the ref missed a very blatant foul which gifted Watford their second goal.It went to VAR but I think the visibility was too poor to establish it was a free kick to Leicester. dont know how much worse the game had to get to call it off. At one stage they had to stop the game and get hot air blowers to clear all the lines. Didnt appear like the undersoil heating was on. There were also several bad injuries as a result of the conditions . Personally having gone to that game I am pleased we did not risk the players that day, or even worse experience a bad refereeing decision

Getting to more posts than the actual match thread would have.
Some suspect defending from Rowls early on and should have kicked it into touch a few times instead of playing it around at the back.
But his team stood up to WeDon'tLikeRowls United constant waves of attacks.
Draw a fair result in the end.

Re: MATCH OFF.
If you find them vague to help I'll say at 3pm or shortly after. In any case it's what those with a strong view that the kick-off should've been delayed actually think. Events didn't prove it couldn't happen - events proved that it was decided not to review a short while after the scheduled kick off time.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 6:02 pmYes because delaying a game for "an hour or so" - your vague words, not mine, can't happen. My point is that the officials , players and management deemed it unwise to play the game under those conditions or risk any subsequent difficulties.
Look in tomorrow's paper if you don't believe me. You' seem to have taken the decision personally but I'm sure you'll get over it soon.

I had to be home by 6pm as my wife was going out, an hour delay wouldn’t have allowed me to do that.

The snow stopped around 2.30 to 2.45 and hasn’t snowed since as per the weather reports said. The pitch would have been fine from 3pm onwards.
Re: MATCH OFF.
It was the referee's decision. The players apparently were keen to play. Dyche and Conte were disappointed but understood the decision at the time.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 6:14 pmMy point is that the officials , players and management deemed it unwise to play the game under those coditions nor risk any subsequent difficulties.

It would have been ok yesterday too, we should have had the foresight to bring it forward 24 hours. Or move it to Deepdale, didn’t seem to have been much of any snow in Preston.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 6:17 pmThe snow stopped around 2.30 to 2.45 and hasn’t snowed since as per the weather reports said. The final decision is, absolutely, but as Mr. Dyche , you know, our Boss, has explained, the game was called off after much consultation. As I said earlier, if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
You know better than him and the rest ? You're more "sensible" than him and the rest ?
Aye, whatever.

Re: MATCH OFF.
This is irrelevant. The point is simple. If he'd checked the forecast and not rushed into a bad decision the game could (and should) have gone ahead today.
It's very disappointing how eager people are to be pushed around and governed like this simply because somebody has mumbled something about it being "risky". The fans, especially Tottenham fans, have been treated appallingly.
The snow stopped exactly as forecast and the game could (should) have proceeded in the bright sunshine that followed.

I don't imagine the PL have anything to do with it at the point it's called off, although I definitely imagine they'll be EXTREMELY interested to know the facts and whys and wherefores around the decision tomorrow morning.
The point I'm making is that teams at the highest level constantly play in crap weather these days and little old Burnley couldn't. I assume the reasons were legit, but ultimately we will still look very, very tin pot to the outside world!

Now then, rowls, give it a rest. Making stuff up is pushing it a bit far.
So Dyche didn't mean what he said, Conte was telling porkies too............two guys who are absolutely terrified of upsetting the authorities.......and the sun was shining in time for the second half. Fans and staff hanging about for around an hour and a half for that would have been a really, really good idea.
I know you're messing about but, hey, come on.
