Re: I certainly hope
Like other cases, this one highlights how poor some part of our social services really are.
They need more money, better training and more support.
This woman had already had her own kids removed, but for some reason she wasn't deemed a risk to someone else's kid...
Back in 2000 Victoria Climbie was murdered by family and again social service missed several chances to save her, similar to this case.
There will be the usual investigation, the usual hollow speeches and then things will go back to normal....
As for these two, I'd like to think they get whole life tariffs, but we shall see.

Poor, poor little boy. Such a sickening case. I hope these two inhuman bastards never come out.
Also, please let's behave on this thread. This is not a subject for petty point-scoring.

Indeed, Billy, but the lazy trash posted by the likes of Jakub has to be pointed out.
Just as an aside, being completely objective, I'd love to know the background of those responsible. Is this awful thing a one-off or yet another link in a depressing chain of violence being passed through a family's generations, I wonder.

I haven’t followed this in the news in great detail, I found it far too harrowing. What little bit I did read led me to have a very restless night. How do people do such things, it’s truly unthinkable

Re: I certainly hope
Your initial comment, a pack of lies, Jakub, was a damn sight more disrespectful to the young lad's plight than mine, I'm afraid.
Rather than trot out the first cliche that comes to mind, I have at least attempted to work out how the hell a truly horrific thing like this continues to happen in our so-called civilised society.
You choose not to address that, fair enough, but glibly trying to claim the moral high ground is not a good look, especially for you.
A good evening to you, too.

His mother is in prison for murder so you can probably have a reasonable guess about the poor lad's life and people in it.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 7:30 pmIndeed, Billy, but the lazy trash posted by the likes of Jakub has to be pointed out.

Saw this a while back after committal, truly awful case, almost beyond words what happened to the poor kid . One of the very very few cases where the perps deserve a termination of some type in all honesty . They’ll spend the next few yrs considering suicide that’s for sure .

While you make good points , this type of true evil ( thankfully very rare ) would have likely found it’s way to the surface one way or another , regardless of civilised interventions. The poor lad being the conduit .evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 7:42 pmYour initial comment, a pack of lies, Jakub, was a damn sight more disrespectful to the young lad's plight than mine, I'm afraid.

Really grim that, upsetting to read. If you haven’t, I’d suggest you don’t. I’ll always be against capital punishment and vigilantism but I have to admit if they send these to Wakefield prison and don’t hide their identities I wouldn’t lose any sleep over what happens.

Utterly heartbreaking.
There’s much I could say, but it isn’t the time to do so.
RIP little man.

But people who can do something like this are obviously beyond any kind of help or rehabilitation. What is the answer?boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:25 pmMuch as I appreciate your sentiment, getting criminals to mete out punishment on behalf of society should not be the answer.

Re: I certainly hope
I’m not reading it because I couldn’t stomach listening to much of it on the news. Don’t think there would be any shortage of volunteers to execute these **** bags. Hopefully they will get attacked in prison and spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders. Perhaps we can save a couple of rats and use them for drug testing.

Re: I certainly hope
When I began my probation career, we learned about the tragic case of Maria Colwell.
46 years on the same dreadful things are happening.
I do believe the caring professions need to firm up .
It is not uncaring to ask to see the child and inspect them. It is not uncaring to challenge parents about their behaviours towards their children. Neither is it uncaring to call in the police if you are a witness to these horrible behaviours. Everyone has let this child down.

Since being held in prison for the duration of her trial, Tustin has reportedly suffered suicidal thoughts and two suicide attempts.
It also reported that she has been bullied by other inmates while in detention awaiting trial.
Suicide is too much of an easy way out for her,she should suffer in Prison until she dies.

It's not uncaring to prioritise the services that protect children, to promote them as something vital rather than as a whipping boy for the red tops and hard of thinking, and to fund them accordingly....
Like most other professions 99% of social workers do a sh1tty, high pressured, stressful and undervalued job. But let's not use the existence of these 2 animals to fuel our empty headed prejudices eh.

It's easy to criticise isn't it when you haven't experienced the real world effect of cuts on front line services. It's a thankless job at the best of times, with the demands growing all the time. Sadly, these cases can often be linked to political choices.fatboy47 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:55 pmIt's not uncaring to prioritise the services that protect children, to promote them as something vital rather than as a whipping boy for the red tops and hard of thinking, and to fund them accordingly....
