Do u think if Wood gets the service today from Tripps and scores say a couple, appreciate it’s just a start but would it be reasonable to take a look at ourselves and blame “the framework” partly for our current position?

As for Rovers, I genuinely can't work out if they are that good, or the Championship is distinctly average this year.
Fulham can return to the summit with a win later, but given their erratic form you can't guarantee they'll bag all 3 points.

Our "framework" whatever that is supposed to mean has been crap, boring and predictable for two years now. I hate to say it but watching Burnley is just a frustrating habit for me now: I really hope they prove me wrong on Tuesday and it kick starts our season, but I'm not sure we are capable of doing it with this elderly, tired squad.

I'd be very surprised if Wood doesn't get off to a flyer, especially with Trippier supplying him.

Re: Today's Footy
Since Rovers got battered 7-0 by Fulham, they've played 10 and won 8 of those, whilst conceding just 3 goals.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 2:28 pmCity can prepare to lift the PL trophy no doubt.

That's promotion form in anyone's book, whether the Championships average or not

Watched the Cardiff Rovers game second half and to be honest Rovers looked poor. But win when you are playing crap is a recipe for success

Yep! can't deny that TM has got them in a rich vein of form, and right now they've got every chance of finishing in the automatic places.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 2:33 pmSince Rovers got battered 7-0 by Fulham, they've played 10 and won 8 of those, whilst conceding just 3 goals.

Re: Today's Footy
A note to Thomas Tuchel who seems to delight in criticising the Clarets, whether we are playing them or suffering from Covid etc.
When we played at the Etihad we had just 29% possession but managed 7 shots with 2 on target. Chelsea today had 44% possession but managed only 4 shots with 1 on target.
He criticised us for our performance at the Bridge but, in spite of having just 30% possession, we managed 5 shots with 2 on target!
I think that, looking at the league table today, he needs to sort his own house out before criticising others. Thomas, in case you are wondering, you are now 13 points behind the league leaders, in spite of your pontifications about other less well off teams.

Re: Today's Footy
That was a good game to watch, however, I am still wondering how they managed to disallow the Luton goal for offside when the referee had already given it and the AR had not flagged! I think that there was some input from the 4O, however, then I ask myself whether or not he was taking notice of the Bournemouth bench who had access to TV pictures. All very strange!ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 2:39 pmLuton 3 Bournemouth 2

Re: Today's Footy
I suspect what most of us fear today,Wood will get off to a flyer,he will certainly get the service from his new teammates, and before very long,Norwich, Watford & and ourselves will have to accept the inevitable,Wood did well scoring for us with only McNeil giving him the service, looks like a five man midfield for Newcastle today...hate to say it but I think we are doomed.

It's a nervy day even though we are not playing.
Re: Today's Footy
Hopefully the fact that Newcastle will be very open at the back means he'll have to score quite regularly.Steve1956 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 2:51 pmI suspect what most of us fear today,Wood will get off to a flyer,he will certainly get the service from his new teammates, and before very long,Norwich, Watford & and ourselves will have to accept the inevitable,Wood did well scoring for us with only McNeil giving him the service, looks like a five man midfield for Newcastle today...hate to say it but I think we are doomed.

Re: Today's Footy
Wood will score enought goals to get into double figures once again for the fifth consecutive season. He would have done the same for us.
Just over 67% of his PL goals have been scored after his 18/19th league appearances.

Re: Today's Footy
A Watford win would be the worst outcome today. We'd need to win our two games in hand over them to get out of the brown hill(!).
Fair play to Pace and Dyche for postponing today's game given Newcastle caught us with our pants down.

To be fair their forum is full of folk holding their hands up. Fair play to those who admit they're wrong. Still, long way to go yet. They are nowhere near promotion.

The worrying thing here, is they have so much more quality than we do. Unless pace come a pull a miracle in the next weeks with a few decent signings it’s pretty clear we are down
