Just read wet spam may offer A Carroll a short term contract as they are short on forwards.

Can't believe we've been linked with so few players. I know we do most of our business at the end of the window but surely we were already in the market for a right winger even before Wood left?

I agree it’s disappointing that we haven’t been linked with any right wingers.
Don’t think we can complain at the lack of links though: Fulgini, Fofana, Origi, Benteke, Guirassy, Carroll, Campbell, Knight, Jones… even Ramsay - that’s more than we normally get over the course of three summer windows

The chances of us signing Fofana, Origi, Benteke and Ramsay are virtually 0.NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 9:04 amI agree it’s disappointing that we haven’t been linked with any right wingers.

There's been nothing about Fulgini in weeks, Marseille seem to be favourites to sign him. Rennes manager has said that Guirassy is going nowhere.
I'd presume that Jones is only really of interest if Tarky goes.
That leaves Campbell and Knight who we've been linked with before so it could just be lazy journalism and Andy "11 starts and 1 goal in 3 PL seasons" Carroll.

Just been watching the Dyche interview on Clarets Player - not sure if anyone has mentioned this interview before
Very non committal on any chances of players coming in
Certainly not saying he has the £25m as a kitty
Usually he would say things like "potential deals are being explored but getting them over the line difficult etc"
This time, literally nothing

Honestly I expect him to say nothing, normally does. He only ever acts more positive about transfers when they are pretty much done and dusted. He said a flat “no” about our business all summer.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 9:41 amJust been watching the Dyche interview on Clarets Player - not sure if anyone has mentioned this interview before

Origi on loan surely would work for everyone, he gets to put himself in the window for a summer move, Liverpool save his wage, we stay up he might want to come, we go down nothing lost to him and he moves on in the summer

He repeatedly said that we were trying to be active in the market and add to the squad.
He didn’t confirm all the money is committed to reinvest. Why would we tell other clubs we have a load of cash we’re looking to spend?!?

Other clubs will know anyway, our debt problems & the £25m transfer fee won’t go unnoticed, the hierarchy at the other clubs will know more than the general fans about financing & budget allocation. The “load of cash” is pie in the sky it’s all going to dell or a sizeable chunk in my opinion.

Of course everyone know we’ve just had a £25m woodfall, but like you, some selling clubs will believe we need all/some of it to service our debt. Whether that’s true or not, it’s never a good idea to appear a rich buyer (or a poor seller) hence why Dyche rightly played it with a straight bat. There’s nothing you can read in to that statement.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 9:59 amOther clubs will know anyway, our debt problems & the £25m transfer fee won’t go unnoticed, the hierarchy at the other clubs will know more than the general fans about financing & budget allocation. Well we’ll certainly find out over the next two weeks whether you’re right about the money being needed to pay off MSD.
It’s either a case of new players to help our relegation fight, or debt reduction (which should please a lot of fans worried about that).

Imagine Liverpool would want a large loan fee on top of his salary being paid to recoup some of their investment. I think it would be worth it if we linked it to retaining our status. Pretty sure Newcastle wouldn’t allow us to sign a top striker though!! It will all boil down to money & they’ll have a lot more of it!

For this window loans and a couple of young signings for the future has to be the best bet. Nobody is going to be tempted in given our relegation potential.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Croatian sports media linking us with Mislav Oršić from Dinamo Zagreb. He plays mainly on LW but can play on the right. 29. I personally don't think he's good enough (very inconsistent) but he wouldn't cost anywhere near as much as even Championship wingers.
No official bid made according to the journo.

Because now he’s saying a deal that the world knew could never happen economically, can’t happen economically.
Pointless reporting who we’re interested in but isn’t interested in joining us and we couldn’t afford anyway. May as well link us with Mbappe. Sure we’d like him too. He’s just creating stories (with very little truth behind them) to create content.
Fair enough, he’s got a job to do.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Was never going to happen. Anyone to think it through for just a moment would have realised it. Perhaps apart from those who thought he'd get a pay rise coming here which is laughable.NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 12:48 pmBecause now he’s saying a deal that the world knew could never happen economically, can’t happen economically.

He said we were interested in replacing Wood with Benteke not that he was signing.
Benteke was clearly affordable so I've no idea what you're on about the world knew it economically couldn't happen?
Benteke doesn't want to agree to a relegation wage cut and Nixon already reported Benteke himself wasn't interested in the transfer either.

Sunday - Nixon: Burnley interested in £120k a week Benteke who plays for a prem rival not in a relegation battle.
Monday - Benteke: I’m not going anywhere.
Tuesday - Nixon: Burnley can’t afford Benteke.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Economically couldn't happen because Benteke was never going to accept the commercial terms particularly while we are staring down the barrel of gun in terms of very high relegation risk.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 12:54 pmWeird agenda you're pushing here or you're looking at it from the complete wrong angle.
