Hi Claret wizard thanks for that, i should have said i'm in Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca is about 25 mins away so going over there means no alcohol and it could be a long game without drink, hopefully not.claret wizard wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 7:41 amJimmymaccer will be in Playa Blanca, thread here

Wish I was! Very familiar with O'Reilly's bar, although tend to spend more time in the old town and watch the footy at The Inn Place, mad West Ham supporters and home to the Lanzarote Hammers supporters clubkendalianclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 1:43 amAnyone coming over to Lanzarote this week and will be here for the Watford and Man U games, give me a shout we will be in o'reillys for both games, lets give the Claret's a shout from here.

I've been going in for years and never seen us win in there! It's good when West Ham play, supporters from around the island descend with bits of food for everyone to tuck into!kendalianclaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 6:41 pmYes we spend a lot of time in the Old Town, get in The Inn Place a bit yes big hammers fans, but do have all other games on, in fact i was on my way down to The Inn Place to watch us against Villa when a mate text me to say it had been called off, one of many.

Probably a good thing you're not out here Claret Felix if when you watch the Clarets in The Inn Place they never win, definitely need a win tomorrow. Yes Top Claret i know i could, buses and taxi's are very cheap here anyway, just easier to walk down to Carmen only 10 minute walk from house, and if they win will probably stay out for a few more beer's.Top Claret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 2:01 pmHe needs to jump on the 161 the airport to Playa Blanca bus, it goes via PDC every 30 minutes
Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
Get in touch with VinoBlanco off here. There is a Burnley pub in Benalmadena that I've been in with a lot of fellow clarets. Name of the bar slips my memory but he will let you know.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 2:37 pmHaha bonus!

Very cheap to get across to playa Blanca. Not been for a few years. Miss it immensely
Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
Remembered the name. The Lounge Bar. However, it says it's permanently closed. Vino Blanco, if you are reading this where do all the Burnley fans now head to now?

Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
I was last there at Christmas 2019, just before the pandemic. I do quite a bit of running and naturally in places like that, you explore. On Boxing Day, just before we played Everton, I was running around Montana Roja and then the day after, across the other side at Marina Rubicon…so much development opportunity. What caught me was how there were roads and car parks in the middle of nowhere. The stories behind why things were never built despite much of the infrastructure being out in place, are truly fascinating.kendalianclaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:59 pmYes JD lovely island, nearly always good weather, though it as been a bit off this last month, had a few calima's, Playa Blanca is being expanded quite a lot, lots of new builds etc, always a nice day out there.

Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
There is still a lot of that, they got grants to build, so put the roads electric etc in then there was a down turn lack of investment and things didn't get built, but the infastructure is there for when they do, now things are picking up even more roads going in, when you ran up montana roja you would probably have seen the half built hotel near the coast, never got finished i can't remember exactly what the problem was there, the Spanish government (mainland) allocate money to develop etc but you have to spend it, you cant think oh we will save this money up until we have enough for whatever, if it isn't spent the country (Lanzarote) lose it, which is why you see for instance in Puerto del Carmen cycle ways new lighting etc being done.jdrobbo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 12:25 amI was last there at Christmas 2019, just before the pandemic. Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
If you go to Costa Teguise the place is littered with unfinished developments that the government as stopped due to corruption within the Majors office.
Corruption is also aproblem on the Spanish costas, especially Alicante and Valencia province were ex pats have been stung and left with properties on their hands they can't sell

Re: Anyone in Lanzarote
Evening all, here we go again, after no offers on here to join us for the Watford match, their was actually 5 of us turned up on a lovely warm dry evening at O'Reillys in PDC, so anymore want to join us for the match tomorrow against Man U, their used to be a big following for Man U in there but it has dwindled over the years, obviously not winning enough, so if you are over here come down and will the lads on, onwards and upwards with the Clarets.

Hi no worries jimmymaccer, i will have to try Paulos bar sometime, put a message on here if you are back over, yes it's been a bit up and down tourist wise in PDC last few months, it's always nice in PB, nearly bought there a few times in fact as recently as December, anyway have safe journey back and enjoy the game. Here for the Everton & Norwich games (Playa Blanca) if anyone is about.
Doubt I’ll persuade the family to watch it, so any company welcome.

Love playa blanca. Very jealous. I can send you some nice running routes around the volcano if you like? Strangely, last time I was there I was there for the Everton game: Boxing Day 2020. Enjoy mate!

I'm not there but Costa Teguise is our favourite place. We generally go for 3-4 weeks at Christmas. Interested to know where you watch the footy. At a guess it would be Paradise or Abbey Road. Cutty Sark is our haunt and where we used to watch all the football but they have been closing at around 5pm since they reopened after being shut for Covid. Have a great time

Watched the game tonight in Hammond’s in CT. I scared a few children with my cheering when we scored our winner! The Norwich game will be played whilst I am flying home. It will be nervous looking for the score as we taxi in at Manchester airport.

You shouldn't have a problem in the shopping type complex , Auld Triangle, Sin Nombre, Peggy's or Deckys.

The problem with the Preston match is that it coincides with the biggest match of the season in the 6 nations, Ireland v France. I imagine all the Irish bars will be rammed with the rugby on most screens and if any football that is on will probably be from the Premier league.
