Team for Brentford

Post by KRBFC » Sat Mar 05, 2022 5:26 pm

Can we please just stop with this Westwood/Rodriguez experiment, they're both shite.

Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
Cornet Cork Brownhill Mcneil
Barnes Wout

Time for Barnes to get a sniff, let's see if he's still got it, we've all seen how poor Rodriguez is, I don't need to see anymore.

So you’d drop arguably our best player of late (including today) Lennon?

Pope
Lowton Tarkowski Mee Taylor
Lennon Cork Brownhill Cornet
Rodriguez Weghorst

Roberts out, Westwood out, McNeil out, Jay out

Lowton, Cork, Cornet and have a look at Richardson from the start.

No issue with OP team apart from McNeil in the starting lineup. I would drop him and keep Lennon in.

Harsh on Lennon, looks threatening without actually threatening more often than not. I understand you might like Lennon tackling and stuff, I want attack, so Cornet in for me.

Surprised people haven't woke up and seen how poor Rodriguez is yet, the masses still calling for him to start, remind me, what is it? 1 goal in 35 games? something horrendous like that. Zero standards from our fan base

Pope
Roberts Tarks Mee Pieters
Lennon brownhill Cork McNeil
Cornet Weghorst

Cornet was sharp up front today and Brentford couldn’t deal with him last time out. McNeil gets another go. CMs back to what worked.

He’s had a better attacking output than McNeil this season I far less games. Should have had another assist the other night had Cornet stayed onside.

Don't worry RV not everybody knows their football. Lennon is currently one of the first names on the team sheet!

Lowton and Cornet should come in for Roberts and Rodriguez. Hopefully Mee is back as we look a lot weaker without him. You could make a case for Cork for Westwood but I’m not sure making so many changes would be a great idea.

I think you could make a very very strong case for Cork over Westwood.

Lennon is one who looks like he actually cares, and he's been a bright spark of late, definitely deserves to start, Dwight perhaps not so much, and it's not the first time Dwight has gone hiding in a game this season, which in our precarious position we can ill afford, the very last thing we want is too be carrying passengers.

The same people that laud Jay (even though he never scores) fail to acknowledge how much better we looked when Vydra played.

Rodriguez needs an enforced break. His pressing and general play were ineffectual.

Keep the ball on the deck more and watch Wout work his magic. Would be tempted to drop McNeil and put Maxwel there starting Jay but I think Dwight needs to bounce back with a big performance immediately. I’ve got him down for an assist already

Cork has to come in for Westwood. Shame Pieters looks to be out long term or have him back in for Taylor. I’d keep Jay Rod up top with Weghorst next week.

I don't disagree but if it was a choice between Mcneil or Lennon in a must win, winnable game, I think I'd edge Mcneil and hope he produces what he's capable of.

I always think the people who want Richardson in play too many computer games. He's the sort of player you'd bring on when the game is already won or lost (thought today was a good opportunity to bring him on) but not starting in a game we basically need to win. That's just crackers.

Why?

Lowton/Roberts a toss up.
Cornet/Mcneil/Lennon, I think I'd go for ability and hope it pulls through.

and I don't see dropping a striker who averages a goal every 40 games hugely controversial

I'll take Cornet over Lennon, it's not a big deal, certainly not something worth arguing over. I'm not a huge Lennon fan, never have been, he was excellent against Brighton and Spurs. Against Leicester and today he looked really threatening without providing any end product, got into good areas, provided little, does his best work off the ball.

Strangely enough today Lennon actually put in a couple a decent crosses, something he's had difficulty doing the whole of his career. I don't think Dyche will drop him at the moment, and they way he was backing Dwight after the game, I don't think he'll drop him either, which means Jay getting hooked, and Cornet playing out of position.

Finds himself in great positions but his crossing has always been really poor, so he looks really dangerous without offering much danger.

It's always been poor, but today he did actually put a couple of decent crosses in, unusually.

If Pieters, Mee and Cork are fit, then all 3 have to start for Collins, Taylor and Westwood.

McNeil and Lennon have done plenty recently to deserve the wide roles and personally i think Jay gives us a better attacking platform than Cornet.

I'd also give serious thought to.a recall for Lowton given Roberts struggled today.

Agreed with all this and I’d be putting Lowton back in too. Not convinced Roberts is offering enough. Cork simply must start with Brownhill though Westwood just appears to be Teflon with SD.

I think Cork and Brownhill in central midfield with Lennon and McNeil outside has to be a given, going off the past performances. I imagine 90% would go with that. Not convinced Taylor is properly fit, but neither is Pieters after being injured so that in itself is a bit of a spin of the coin.

Lowton/Roberts is quickly becoming the Lowton/Bardsley where one would go on a run of a few great games but then lose form. The other would come in and they then do well for a few games. But I wouldn't bring in Lowton just because Roberts struggled today - different opposition completely.

I'm a big Wetswood fan. But not so much recently. And I thought McNeill was woeful today, but time and time again, I see just how good he could be in the middle of the park. When he was picking it up against Leicester in the centre circle, and dancing past them, it was a beautiful sight to behold

Agreed with all this and I’d be putting Lowton back in too. Not convinced Roberts is offering enough. Cork simply must start with Brownhill though Westwood just appears to be Teflon with SD.
We're playing Brentford next. Get at them with Roberts.
