Re: Spring Photographs 2022
Not quick enough to get a snap but I saw my first 2022 butterfly yesterday - a Brimstone They're nearly always the first to be seen around this part of north Hampshire - as soon as you get a vaguely spring day. They're difficult to capture on phone/camera as they never seem to alight for any length of time but there are a few sunny days coming up later this week so Ill try and capture one.
I dont think this species is very common in Lancs but a good photo and some info here https://butterfly-conservation.org/news ... utterflies

Spring definitely in the air for our Frogs in the pond too ... no need for tinder etc and swipe left/right here either
Always know when they are active ... the pond goes cloudy as they get frisky stirring the mud up

Noticed frogspawn in my pond yesterday too. I used to hear them mating prior to the spawn appearing (quite a noisy commotion) but I'm too deaf nowadays to hear that harbinger of spring.

Yes, deserted on a beautiful spring day, no narrow boats, pub closed for several years, typical Burnley, can’t sort out one of it’s most attractive assets.
About time the Council and the Canal and River Trust got together and developed this interesting and potentially beautiful area of town.

Re: Spring Photographs 2022
I think the pub (The Inn on the Wharf) is owned by The Greene King Brewery, so maybe Burnley Council need to put a little bit more pressure on them to either sell the pub or put it up for rent/lease at a reasonable rate.
