Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Ironic I know, but we have to shoot off straight after the game on Sunday to The First Direct Arena
and wondered if anyone on here could recommend a place to park, preferably free, with no long queues
to leave after the gig. Have checked with QParks and they have come up with St John's Centre.
Never been before so have no knowledge.
Will I be gloating, let's hope so?
Cheers in advance.

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Have a look at Trafalgar St, Nile St and Lower Brunswick Street on Google Maps. Its free parking round there in the evening and less than 10 mins walk to the arena.
Its not easiest way in and out of Leeds if you dont know the City but if you have a Sat Nav it'll be a piece of p*ss and you'll be out and on to Motorway in no time after the gig.

St Johns centre is next to it but will cost and likely to be busy leaving if there's been an event on. Area I've suggested is about as near to City centre as you can get without paying and I doubt they'll be anyone parked round there

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Cheers for the info DA, will give that a go. It will be a tight do with the times although not
too bothered about missing the support act.
QParks want £8.50 for St John's- evening parking special 6pm to 2am.
Best route over the tops and Hebden Bridge etc from The Turf or head for M66, M60 etc ?

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
I live in North Leeds so I come over via Shipley or Ilkley. On a Sunday motorway should be quicker than over the tops although you'll do a bit more mileage.
With it being on a Sunday you could prob get 5 mins away on Lovell Park Road for bout £3 but for 5 min extra walk prob not worth the hassle

I park off LyndHurst Rd usually on Thursfield/ Linby or Linden St. If I leave on 90mins I’m generally on the M65 10 minutes after getting in the car. If you wait for full time whistle 20 minutes.
This parking is free. Just avoid any dipped kerbs on the end of streets. That usually results in a fine.

More than welcome to park on my drive, probably about £6 in a taxi from my house….Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 4:45 pmIronic I know, but we have to shoot off straight after the game on Sunday to The First Direct Arena

Ignore me….thought you meant in Leeds
I park near Fulledge and go the back way (Long Causeway to Hebden) and it takes about an hour.

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
I would park in Burnley Wood, and go via Rawtenstall onto the M66. Usually very quick to get away, particularly as some fans will be staying behind for the lap of (hopefully) honour. You’ll be in Leeds before 7pm.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 5:19 pmCheers for the info DA, will give that a go. It will be a tight do with the times although not

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Devil's Advocate's advice Trafalgar Street etc is your best (probably only) bet for free parking nearby but are likely to be busy when there's an event at the arena.
I'd suggest the College of Building on North Street. The parking restrictions only apply to college open times so you can park there evenings and weekends.

Thanks for clearing that up G, I really didn't think there was any
ambiguity in my post tbh.
I'll take all the info in and make an informed decision.
Cheers to all.

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Last time I was in there we parked across the road at the Merrion Centre. It was slow getting away after the gig but we were late in so high up.
Our biggest problem was missing the turn for the A64M, twice. The sign was covered with shrubs and we had to follow the dashed route to get back on again.
Decent venue.

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Do you need tickets for the Leeds relegation parade this Sunday or do you just turn up and enjoy the fun ?

Re: Help for Leeds Sunday please!!!!
Well, after a very disappointing afternoon, we successfully arrived at the First Direct Arena
in good time. Unlike in the afternoon, the bands turned up and a good time was had by all.
The perfect way to banish the blues and cheer ourselves up.
