Music Thread
Music Thread
With all the doom and gloom we should relieve ourselves (!) with a music thread. Anything goes.
Trevor Lucas/Fairport Convention - Tears

Gary Jules - Mad World

There's a connection with these two songs!

Re: Music Thread
Rather than start a new thread I'll resume this one ahead of tomorrow's game.
An appropriate song I feel.
Really not sure how well The National are known in the UK. One of my favourite contemporary groups, this American band have made some great music, in my humble opinion over the last 15 years or so.
This track "About Today" is my favourite of them all. It was used in the excellent film "The Warrior" starring Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte.
This is the version used on the soundtrack at the end of the film. We need to be warriors tomorrow and this is stirring music.

Re: Music Thread
Well as soon as I saw “Dad's chippy” I was expecting Chris Rea and your bride being a smoggy. As it wasn’t I’ll chuck one of Chris’ into the mix. “Working On It”, the boys will be doing that tomorrow.Steve1956 wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 2:10 pmNew album out shortly...this guy is amazing seen him at King George's Hall & Manchester Arena he's fantastic live, and he orginates from my wife's hometown & I've been in his Dad's chippy

Re: Music Thread
Whilst absolutely not a fan of Nirvana, I do like this song. I discovered it through the hugely underrated Ben Gibbard ("The Postal Servive", "Death Cab for Cutie") who covers "All Apologies" when playing solo concerts.

This is some album. Talk Talk: 'Spirit of Eden'. It came out in 1988. Where have all the years gone?
