Seeing John Lennon there with Paul McCartney actually brought a tear to my eye. Fabulous moment.

Right, coz the majority of us (barring one or two exceptions) have played nice and not dunked too much on old people music on the thread, you need to play nice and not criticise young people music when Kung Fu Kenny's on tomorrow, deal?

The other myth about the Beatkes is how **** Ringo was as a drummer. When you see this stuff live you see how good he actually was

What an incredible two and a half hours - wasn’t sure what to expect but it just seemed to get better and better and better as it went on.
Just awesome, just brilliant.

Re: Glastonbury 2022
Yep that was terrific. Catching up on Idles now. Powerful stuff
Re: Glastonbury 2022
I've been to Glastonbury 7 times and I've never felt like it was aimed at young people in particular.
I doubt you are a teenager, and I'd hazard a guess that you are one of those "trying to be down with the kids" people that are taking offence on their behalf.
Just enjoy Glatonbury for what it is

Re: Glastonbury 2022
I'm biased and a self confessed Beatles fan but last nights performance was something special. I could see my life flash before me in the space of 2hours 20 mins. Still at junior school when Love me Do came out, he performed my favourite single Lady Madonna and the cherry on top for me, Maybe I'm Amazed from his first solo album post Beatles, but written whilst still one of the fab four. To cap it all he brought on one of the few who was fit to share a stage with him in Bruce Springsteen (hurry up and get those uk dates sorted Brucey). This truly was one of the great nights down at Juniors Farm.

100% agree. Folk forget that the other 3 poached him as he was the best drummer in Liverpool at that time.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 1:07 amThe other myth about the Beatkes is how **** Ringo was as a drummer. When you see this stuff live you see how good he actually was

Re: Glastonbury 2022
The morning after - and thankful I recorded it, that will definitely get another watch sometime.
Re: Glastonbury 2022
Watching Supergrass at the moment. Brings back some great memories. Will hopefully get to see Paul McCartney on catch up.
Re: Glastonbury 2022
I wish I had recorded it, fantastic performance throughout the set. Well done Sir Paul and all who worked to put the show together.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 9:59 amThe morning after - and thankful I recorded it, that will definitely get another watch sometime.
Re: Glastonbury 2022
Went to see Macca last night. Was underwhelmed so went off to see Roisin Murphy. Walking back later, I could hear Hey Jude. Bizarrely managed to get to the front with no effort and it was absolutely amazing. Springsteen and Grohl! Then Calvin Harris at Arcadia. Living my best life!

The Springsteen appearance was very, very special and I wouldn’t class myself as a seriously huge fan of either artist. Just one of those amazing moments.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 8:34 amI'm biased and a self confessed Beatles fan but last nights performance was something special. For a start I'm younger than Lamar, though not by much. I know that's probably not young by your definition, but it's not 'let's enjoy the nostalgia act', either. I'm not sure anyone is being offended to be quite honest. Not sure what your point is.Damo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 2:49 amI've been to Glastonbury 7 times and I've never felt like it was aimed at young people in particular.

Caught up on a band called First aid KIt, really impressed by them - circa 70’s Californian folk and harmonies. Well worth checking out

putting coldplay and radiohead in the same circle is all kinds of wrong.

Is she shouting instead of singing? thought the backing group were out of key but unfortunately I now thinks it’s DR and the backing group are covering for her, its not working though.
