Liam Feeney - scored their goal. He made his debut for Blackburn as a sub in our 2-1 win there in 2014 and should have been sent off within a minute.
Ended last season at Scunthorpe.
This is why I shouldn't trust my memory - I was there but thought we won 1-0! One of my favourite moments in recent times, just because it felt so important at the time. The other two were Kightly against Blackpool but probably my favourite was Barnes getting the winner against Palace - I'm usually calm but not that day. I'm sure they will be more important goals but for some reason those three stick with me...even though I can't properly the circumstances.
...thinking again Barton at Deepdale was special too.

Feeney gave Bolton the lead that day with around 20 mins left

The link with Jackson Muleka by Belgian / Turkish press suggests we are in for a goalscorer.
Has that come up again?
I liked what I saw of him. Think the reported €3.5m fee is more in line with what we can afford than the £10m+ an established Championship striker would cost.

Ah but do you own a £4000 watch?
Unfortunately not, I do like watches and have about 10 nothing over 100 quid but I don't know why I bought so many because they irritate me when I wear them strangely enough

Barnes getting the winner against Palace
I was on holiday in Taormina, listening to the commentary on the official site, sat at a table eating a cannolo
. ****** off that we had let a 2-goal lead slip, then Barnsey came up with the winner deep in stoppage time. I gave a fright to people at the nearest tables with my scream of GOAAAL

On my birthday
I met Joey Barton at Turf a couple of years later and told him that he had given me my best ever birthday present!

Joey, to an extent, gave me a special birthday. He’d scored in the first half at MK but he gave the team a blasting at half time and we ran out 5-0 winners. Winning 5-0 on your birthday isn’t bad.

I don't know why but Barnes' goal was one of my favourite memories on the Turf. As you suggest at the time it felt like there was only one winner after being two up and the Palace fans were giving it plenty - thankfully Barnes shut them up in a great moment. I sit in the JMU and had the perfect view but uncharacteristically for me I ended up several rows down from where I sit.
Deepdale was mental - it was bonkers on the concourse even before the game. Strong jaw.

I suspect we got more than £10m for Pope, and it was in both clubs’ interests to hint at a lower fee.

I can't imagine that many Burnley supporters will think £10m was a good deal. As you suggest, a great deal for them and a bad one for us.

No surprise there.
I wonder how Bobby Thomas will do under VK's coaching, perhaps he'll step up.

Doesn’t mean he isn’t coming. Just not on a perm. Probably a loan and if we go up, look to either get him back or buy him outright.

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be permanent. He’s never going to break through there and they sold a similar quality player to I think Fulham a few seasons ago.

On the tetchy scale for posters on here I'm way down the ratings
TBH, i doubt there is any chance of this particular player ever being a BFC player on a permanent basis.

Assuming those are the next 2 through the door, along with McNally, you would assume that barring wing backs, that’s the defence sorted and we can look to recruit in more attacking and midfield areas.

Given how many individual errors he allegedly made for Stoke last year (deduced solely from reading the oatcake), I don’t fancy it then - don’t really like developing other clubs players generally so let’s just go for the ones that are exceptional. Delap

Signing three CBS is interesting. Can only assume they must have an indication that Collins is leaving

I did ask my Stoke mate. He said ‘firstly, don’t bother with Oatcake, secondly, he was a bit underwhelming but you can see there is a player there, England u21 captain’.
Think he needs some work under Kompany.

Yes I’d agree. Unless they see Egan Riley as a back up right back but even then Nixon has us linked with a couple of them too.
For what it’s worth, Ireland fans reckon McNally is the ‘ideal Collins replacement’.

Last season he played 17 games at CB and 6 games at Rb. I believe if you based it on minutes played he actually played 2 games at RB.
I would be surprised if he wasn’t coming in as a CB that can play RB if required.
Plus Nixon is linking us with Other RBs so I would suggest hes not coming in to play that position.

Yep, he’s good.
Or Morgan Sanson I always thought looked decent in midfield when he first joined. Injury record so doubt they’ll be able to recover much for him. Loan with an option to buy would be decent.

Not a bad shout, been on loan at PNE last season, and averaged 1 on 3, which is decent.
Another England U21 international.
Doubt we'd get him on a perm though, he's still got 3 years on his Villa contract, so it would likely be a loan at best.

What I'm thinking though is if we're bringing in 3 CBs with one replacing Collins, the club must have received a bid or know a club is coming in, yet I've not seen any reports to suggest that's the case. Maybe Kompany wants 4 solid CB options.
But then, would Man City loan out a player who may be on the bench? And if one is for RB, does that mean they have received a bid for Roberts (again, nothing reported).

Or VK want to play 3 at the back as our main formation, hence needing more cover for CB’s.

It would be a surprise if he’s decided to change his tactics over a summer.

I just find it interesting that we seem to be signing 3 right sided CBS. I know they can play in the other position as Tarks had to on a few occasions. But surely we are signing them to play in there more natural CB position? If all three come off who do you see playing the LCB role?

I just find it interesting that we seem to be signing 3 right sided CBS. I know they can play in the other position as Tarks had to on a few occasions. But surely we are signing them to play in there more natural CB position? If all three come off who do you see playing the LCB role?
May be we won't sign three centre halves. There's been criticism in the past for putting all our eggs in one basket. Perhaps we're looking at a range of options in case some don't come off.

You could be right Taio I’m just basing it on the Nixon speculation. He’s saying we look to be signing all three.

Interesting. I noted that for Blackburn and Stoke he was right sided.

I don’t get this left sided cb and right sided cb nonsense. To me a cb is a cb
Left footed cb right footed cb

I have no idea, I also have no idea why we're signing loan players to develop for other teams with zero chance at signing them permanently. So we're gonna sign 2 young CBs and instantly block their progression and limit their game time by loaning another youngster to play ahead of them? strange to me. If Collins is going, I'd rather we replaced with young quality to develop rather than sheer quantity at low prices.
