Not sure why Burnley would be paying almost double what it was quoted Besiktas had agreed to pay. At the weekend it was suggested that they could get him on loan for the season with a 3.5m Euro option to buy.

The same journalist now saying it's a done deal, 4m euros and signing a 4 year contract. Standard will also get a 25% sell on fee. Medical done in two parts, first part in Belgium on Thursday then over to England to complete it. He will then have to wait for a visa which is likely to mean that he won't be unveiled before the middle of next week.dibraidio wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 12:01 pmThey're all quoting each other though, original story was in the Belgian press yesterday morning:

So you think that near enough all of our outfield player's form becoming progressively worse over the last few seasons culminating in last season had absolutely nothing to do with SD, the system or his coaching team lol...I think those pretending Brownhill's anything but bang average are living in cloud cuckoo land and were the same people on here all last season saying how sh**e and weak we were in central midfield.
Name me one player who we would be in the position to buy with part of the budget of a Brownhill sale who we could attract that is held in the same esteem by professionals and coaches, has more experience at the same levels as Brownhill at just 26 or under and would make the midfield stronger?... Just one will do!
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
So hopefully, the City defenders will be confirmed by the club today or tomorrow. Then Muleka can be part of next week's transfers.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 12:10 pmKevin Sauvage (as legit as you can get on the Belgian league):
Standard is about to record its first major start in this transfer window. As we told you in our Wednesday edition, Burnley had targeted, at the request of Vincent Kompany, two Standardmen: Samuel Bastien and Jackson Muleka. The file of the latter would be about to be finalized.
According to our information, the two clubs have reached an agreement around €4M plus bonuses. The Standard would also benefit from 25% on the next sale. Note that the Liège club will have to pay 50% of the transfer amount to TP Mazembe as stipulated in the clause in his contract.
As for Jackson Muleka, a four-year contract would await him at Burnley. The transaction should be approved once the medical examination, passed in two stages, first in Belgium this Thursday and then in England, carried out. The 22-year-old striker will have to wait for a visa that should be issued to him early next week.
The departure of Jackson Muleka could well launch the incoming transfer window of the Liégeois who, we suspect, will probably look for a new striker.

My guess is its due to the fact we only 'officially' sign them from the 1st July. Up until that date City will still be paying the wages. They are probably in the building and training, but I expect the announcement will be tomorrow. It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:15 amI really don’t know why BFC are consistently delaying announcements.
If deals are done, medicals passed and contracts signed, why keep us fans just having to guess and speculate?

Yeah, it seems very structured how we're going about our business. All the links early doors made me worry we were being a bit scattergun, but as time has gone on, it has become clear who the real targets were.
We seem to be working our way through those targets and only moving onto the next one once we have wrapped up the preceding one.

Apart from 4 or 5 games, all 4 of our central midfielders were absolutely embarrassingly weak last season and should be a high priority area to improve upon.
It's no coincidence we got relegated when Westwood's form fell off a cliff and Dyche no longer trusted Cork who had never found form after injury and looked over the hill for the first 6 months of the season.
We lost all structure in the team when Brownhill came in, Mike Jackson knew that, that's why he immediately started with Cork and Westwood at West Ham. We were wide open with Brownhill in the team and water tight with the other two at their peak. 75% pass completion rate is pretty terrible.
Do you have any experience playing football at any level above the playground stage?
How do you know what Dyche/Jackson were thinking when they made their decisions about squad selection, were you stood by their side? I very much doubt it.
You can’t have a strong midfield if the balls flying over their heads and the strikers can’t control the wayward balls that are being played into them, and then they’re put on the back foot immediately, all you can try to do is stop the other team playing, (something Brownhill was very good at,-stats prove that)
You really need to stop making things up, whilst sat in your bedroom at your mums. When you tell us “I’ve been told/I was told”, who were you told by? You just keep throwing these names up that you’ve scrapped of the internet about who we should buy and then if we’re linked with one of those you try to take credit,(a stopped clock is right twice a day) At the same time being derogatory to other posters who might know more than you.
It’s a transfer rumour thread, stop telling us who you think we should buy and concentrate on the rumours or facts please.

Good to see that AP and VK are on the same wavelength going forwards. Good financial business acumen all round from AP.

I always thought that the crap posted on the transfer rumours thread was because of a lack of rumours and signings so they had to post crap instead. Seems I've been proved wrong, plenty of rumours and signings and yet more crap than ever.

Just realised that Belgian article suggests Samuel Bastien is also on his way to us:
'As we also revealed to you this Wednesday, Samuel Bastien is also on his way to Burnley. A year before the end of his contract, the Congolese international should accompany his compatriot to Burnley. It comes back to us that the two players were present this Thursday at the Academy and that they would have emptied their lockers.'

I did some digging on Bastien the other day when he was first linked.
So, he had a poor/average season just gone (as did Standard in general, it seems), but a mere 2 seasons ago Standard rejected 12m (Euros) from West Ham for him - Standard quoting 20m. He was seen as the real jewel in their crown and one of the best players in that league, but seems to have gone stale alongside their whole club. That was the consensus I got from the Standard forum.
Central midfielder with excellent technique on the ball.

I wasn't derogatory towards you, I just outed you for pretending to be ''in the know'' despite previously being wrong or late.
I never say ''I was told'', I've never claimed to be anything but a fan, I have zero inside source, I'm not one of those pretenders.

Muleka seems a big unit and is not easily knocked off the ball. He's also very quick off the mark.
With an eye for goal, he also knows when to lay it off and create a chance for
his fellow teammates. Hopefully a very decent acquisition for us.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley are in their pursuit of £4 million KV Oostende striker Makhtar Gueye, but I'm still interested to see whether Vydra is going to be part of the new look for the season start, seems VK has the defense sorted if the two MC boys come in as predicted by many. Plus Smallbone from Southampton
