i totally agree. Not only do the people who use these immature things lack the wit and imagination to respond properly they also have an annoying persistence among adults to act like teenagers.BigChaCha wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 3:11 pmYou missed the bit about them nearly filling that bigger stadium to capacity with their average over the last 5 years... Fancy borrowing my username?BigChaCha wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 2:29 pmAbsolutely no chance of signing any players like that and we haven't been linked or have signed any midfield players like that so that proves my point!...
On Norwich. let's look at the facts!...
Firstly the averages -
Season Competition Average
19/20 Premier League 19,911
18/19 Championship 26,014
17/18 Championship 25,773
16/17 Championship 26,354
They average far more than us when we are in the Prem when they are playing in the Champ lol...
They blow us out of the water on averages, population size and if you did a survey across the country, 90% would say they are a bigger club than us if asked when not in this delusional echo chamber.
Have a look at, say, average league position over the last ten years for a stat.

As far as I can see the only thing Norwich beat us on is Population. History, Titles won, Seasons in the Top Division etc. all in our favour.

All good points for proving we’re a BETTER club but this season they’ll be getting crowds 50%(?) more than us even though we’re in the same division, so hard to argue we’re the BIGGER club IMO.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 5:56 pmAs far as I can see the only thing Norwich beat us on is Population. So with the news of the next two pretty much understood now, how do people see our team starting at Huddersfield as things stand (with the assumption of Egan-Riley, Harwood-Bellis, Muleka and Bastien joining/Weghorst and Cornet being sold)? I will go for:
—————————————Hennessey
Roberts———Collins—————-Harwood-Bellis————Taylor
———————Brownhill——Cork——Bastien
———-McNeil——————-Muleka—————Twine
Subs: BPF, Lowton, Long, McNally, Egan-Riley, Gudmundsson, Barnes, Rodriguez, Richardson
—————————————Hennessey
Roberts———Collins—————-Harwood-Bellis————Taylor
———————Brownhill——Cork——Bastien
———-McNeil——————-Muleka—————Twine
Subs: BPF, Lowton, Long, McNally, Egan-Riley, Gudmundsson, Barnes, Rodriguez, Richardson

That’s making some big assumptions that no one is sold, which I consider unlikely.

Kompany prefers 4-4-2 doesn't he, however assuming he does line up 4-4-3 that's a pretty radical overhaul compared to the side which started against Newcastle, 6 changes I make it, and there might well be more comings and goings over the next month.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 7:33 pmSo with the news of the next two pretty much understood now, how do people see our team starting at Huddersfield as things stand (with the assumption of Egan-Riley, Harwood-Bellis, Muleka and Bastien joining/Weghorst and Cornet being sold)? What encourages me is our defence is relatively stable, Hennessey for Pope, and THB for Mee are the only changes.
And we will finally have more dynamism and pace in midfield and attack, which we've badly missed for far too long.
You'll have to omit Lowton from the bench though, as he's serving his ban following his red at Villa, but that apart it actually looks pretty decent for a Championship squad.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
According to latest news on Le Soir, the main French language Belgian "quality' paper, Muleka and Bastien are done deals (dependent on medicals, work permits etc.).
That paper is saying €2.5m for both but I can't read the whole article due to a paywall.
Walfoot, a fairly reliable site, quotes €4m for Muleka alone. But both he and Bastien are reportedly Burnley-bound.
Time, of course, will tell but nobody can accuse VK and the Board of not pulling out all the stops to get players in.

Yes I’ve read about Kompany being a 4-4-2 man, it’ll be interesting to see if that continues here. I feel our personnel suit the 4-3-3 (as things stand), but we’ll see I suppose!
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Kompany likes 4222 and it changes to 352 during the game
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I’d be amazed if Collins is still here.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 7:33 pmSo with the news of the next two pretty much understood now, how do people see our team starting at Huddersfield as things stand (with the assumption of Egan-Riley, Harwood-Bellis, Muleka and Bastien joining/Weghorst and Cornet being sold)? I think Cornet, Roberts, Brownhill, McNeil are still all very real departures. They may not be first choice signings, but I think as the window progresses, and clubs get desperate, we’ll lose the majority of them.
Still expecting a new keeper.
And all the talk when VK first came was the importance of Cullen to his system, so if and when we get further money from departures, perhaps we’ll see him too.
Lots of changes to come yet, I feel.

VK showing us how it’s done. Not a cat in hells chance under the old regime do we target exiting young players and actually bring them in quickly and efficiently. Just confirms what we all thought about Dyches transfer prowess.

Lets judge next year to early to be getting carried away
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Cornet is staying and Lowton is going to WBA
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Muleka is low risk at that price and did well last season, I’d argue the TSL is stronger than the championship, certainly more intimidating, there’s some good sides in that league.
I feel like the deal for Besiktas to sign WW involved them backing off Muleka
Bastien is an unknown, final year of contract so a knockdown price. Transfermarkt values him at 2m, could be a steal but very low risk at 800k and probs easy to shift to Belgium or France if it doesn’t work out. If he does well and plays a key role in promotion he’s worth 8-10m at his age.
Both will bring bags of energy which we have sorely missed.

Hope you’re right about Cornet.
Would be gutted to see Lowts go. Not sure I can handle losing Bardo and Lowts in one summer. If true, WBA recruiting very sensibly and will be a force with the experience they are bringing in.

All thought? It’s one thing getting established premier league players, or top championship players. Last time we went down we signed Andre Gray….. this time we’re hoovering up a division below. Your post is so totally lacking in context. Of course it’s more difficult to bring in young players quickly and efficiently when in the Premier League because;Shaggy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 8:08 pmVK showing us how it’s done. a.) young players who are good enough to play in the Premier League are few and far between, and;
b.) young players who are good enough to play in the Premier League will likely have better offers from better Premier League sides
Buying young players for relatively small sums of money may get us a competitive Championship team, but all of these signings are a punt. Getting the deals done quickly is an absolute necessity due to the number of players who have walked/been released. This may mean we’re being less careful and precise in our recruitment which again is a gamble.
Exciting, yes. But signing a bunch of young players that we know very little about is hardly a stick to beat the previous regime with.

People seem to forget that we did really well in the first few years after returning to PL. Players like Defour, Hendrick, Brady, Taylor, Wood, Gibson and Vydra were the right fit regarding age/talent while experienced players like Bardsley Pieters and even Lennon did really well for us. Problem came when Garlick decided he's not bothered anymore.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 8:14 pmI do find this a weird take?
