This one has been left until today given he was now out of contract at Man CityMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:03 amLoving the speed of business from us at the moment. The pieces are coming together.

We'll see on Collins, but at least if he does go we will be prepared and not scrambling around for a replacement at the 11th hour.SussexDon1inIreland wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:04 amAssume that this means Nathan Collins is intent on leaving?

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
Seems a snip. Not expecting him to be thrown straight into the team but exactly the kind of future-planning where we have been neglectful in the past.
Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
In a couple of years people will be moaning about the 30% sell on fee

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
A few hundred grand but I suspect City will have done what they did with Kieran Trippier & Ben Mee, allowed a low figure but with a huge sell on percentage.

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
I’ll make a prediction based on nothing here - this will be the signing that Burnley make the most money on in the future.

30% sell on.
Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
Certainly reducing the average age of the squad big time
Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
We lost two defenders (Mee and Tarky) and now we've brought in two defenders. Nothing to do with Collins.SussexDon1inIreland wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:04 amAssume that this means Nathan Collins is intent on leaving?

Welcome to Burnley. Over 60 years of following the Clarets and to hear my name read out over the tannoy is a dream come true. My good lifetime friend, Brian( Benny) is probably just as excited to be hearing his name read out, too. Hope it's worth the wait, Brian.

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
I've given up trying to understand how some posters' minds work.
If you're VK, a very intelligent man who had very clearly been working on transfers weeks (months?) before signing the contract, and who just happened to play CB, would you not try your utmost on having NC as you rock in central defence? Forget his age. He was by and large very good for a 20-year-old in the PL playing with different partners and most of the time alongside another right-sided CB.
I am certain VK will have spent a lot of time talking to NC, selling him his vision. I most certainly will buy a season more with Nathan with an agreement that he can leave - for the right price - next season if we don't go up or even if we do but he's offered a move to a "big" club.
Obviously if we get offered stupid money for the lad, we'd take it.
We need four CBs. We've now got three if NC stays. I don't know whether Bobby Thomas could be the fourth CB. I think we need an experienced, solid Championship CB. A bit like John McGreal but younger.

Looks a good signing. I’m finding it hard to get used to this transfer window. Deadline day could be really boring!

Collins
McNally
Egan-Riley
Taylor Harwood-Bellis due to soon be joining for the season.
Long as 5th choice? And then Thomas as a possible 6th choice.

Really good interview that, had to check he was actually 19. Clearly knows his stuff and what he's here for. Impressive.

Interesting the first word he used to describe himself as a player as well was ‘intelligent’.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 11:59 amReally good interview that, had to check he was actually 19. Clearly knows his stuff and what he's here for. Impressive.

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
Reading an article earlier in the week and City fans commenting are surprised Pep has sold him as they all saw him as Kyle Walker's natural replacement.
One person commented he would rather we bought THB and loaned CJ instead.
Sounds like a player.

Re: ARTICLE: Egan-Riley arrives from Manchester City
Burnley announced this as a four year deal this morning, they’ve now changed it to three years. You would hope the club might have got that right.
I’ll go and change it now on here.
