Hold my hand up to being one of those. Thought he’d be a disaster, he did well. I’ll be interested how they back it up next season though.

Bumping this as the bickering has started again on the other thread.
Wallace gone to WBA, 4 year deal which I think would have ruled is out.
Bigger club, I think BHA in for Twine also which Nixon says might make it difficult for us.

What makes you think Brighton? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s them either due to playing style. But also Fulham/Forest are fair shouts.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:52 amBumping this as the bickering has started again on the other thread.

Another rumour for here is Zak Steffen, American keeper at City. A popular City twitter account said he will be Pope’s replacement, so not a reliable source as such, though City look set to sign a 29 year old keeper on a free so there could be something in it.
Steffen fits the profile of a decent all round keeper and very capable with his feet - will want to be getting regular football ahead of the World Cup.

Just have a sense this Twine rumour won’t come off and some PL bidders will emerge.RVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 12:00 pmWhat makes you think Brighton? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s them either due to playing style. But also Fulham/Forest are fair shouts.

Re: Steffen, have to say I’m quite taken with that Muric chap. 6ft 5in, looks to be a great shot stopper and his profile on City’s site says he’s good with his feet, a penalty ace improved his dominance in the box. No idea how he compares to Steffen but hoping that link has substance.

In some respects, don’t want to be involved in bidding wars or being messed around anyway. We can neither afford to get drawn in financially or time-wise. Accepting that good players will always have some interest, there’s plenty around we could have a run at fairly unchallenged and should be focused on getting those done quickly.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Just reading the Millwall forum and their fans loved him on loan there last season. Generally was a class act every game, gave his all despite being on loan, said he’s destined for bigger things. Sounds like the type of player we should be targeting with the aim of developing and profiting off, hopefully the sign of things to come.
With all these CB’s linked, feels to me like Collins could be on his way out unfortunately.

I'm all for letting hot prospect kids play.... I think someone proved it's possible to win things with kids. In that vein it would have been cool to go in for someone like this lad, Mika Biereth, but he's gone out of the country

EFL TRANSFR NEWS sticking their necks out with this one, one of the less expected connections.
Sources suggest that a “lower down” English club has submitted a £23mil bid for #Barça forward Memphis Depay. The bid comes from Frank Lampard’s #EvertonFC . HOWEVER, Burnley have also registered interest and have funds available after their exodus this Summer.

It's a rumour so absolutely belongs on this thread. But it's funny and there is zero chance.

I don’t think the lack of option to buy is a major surprise.
Turkish football fans online appear to be as tedious and egotistical as Arsenal fans are online.

They've just signed Cenk Tosun and expect to confirm Weghorst tomorrow/Tuesday
Can't see them taking Mukela as well.
Probably a ploy to get the Weghorst deal cleared quicker.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Hopefully we’ll know more next week. Besiktas maybe forcing WW into a decision by saying the want Muleka. Would be nice to see a pacy striker up front.
