I know a bloke who owns a cheese company and he has to fill in a 20 page booklet to send a single order to Ireland.blake's wand wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:16 pmSurely if we are even making a bid for a player, we know if there is a good chance of a work permit or not? Imagine how complicated it is trying to sign an African football who has played mainly in Turkey last season.

The club will be aware of the rules but there's always variables that can prevent one being issued or in some cases help one get issued.blake's wand wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:16 pmSurely if we are even making a bid for a player, we know if there is a good chance of a work permit or not? Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Gutted about Muleka. He looked a great prospect from what you can tell from a highlights video - quick, eye for goal, could head it.
If it’s a terms thing, that’s fair enough though. We can’t go caving in to any demand.

A Turkish journo today suggested it's work permit related. Who knows! But hopefully we've moved on quickly and have bids in elsewhere...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I have no problem with people discussing, debating or even “bickering”.
What I do have is no interest whatsoever in, for example, who is the better source Nixon or Fabrizio Romano. I’m happy to have them quoted but that’s it. If I was interested I’d read the posts under that heading.
Before I’m told this is a football message board and I have no comprehension of how it works I am presuming it has separate topics with titles so you can just read the one’s you are interested in. So the above along with others is a separate topic?
The paradoxical nature of posting this on here hasn’t escaped me but I came on here to see who we’re rumoured to be signing and it’s not keeping on topic that I think irritates a lot of readers as the off topic discussions can go on at length. There’s a whole message board out there to put them on clearly headed.

I'm not sure on the status of that because he represents DR Congo, Belgium birth would give him more points, but I don't know if they go off birthplace or nation represented. Presume he has a Congolese passport and citizenship.Selby Claret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:29 pmDoes it make a difference that Bastien is Belgian-born? I 'm just asking as I don't know the answer

I quite agree, I gave my opinion of Alan Nixon and ended up with a snide remark from RV Claret.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:05 pmWho is bickering? When someone wades into a civil discussion and accuses those people of bickering, why doesn't that person realise that they are in fact the one bickering? The irony appears to be lost on you.
Personally, I'm sick of seeing someone use the word bicker every ten minute on here, it's completely stifling discussion and taking this board down to the level you talk about.
I really don't care if anyone agrees with my opinion or not but I can't be arsed when they try to push their opinion on me.
Let's get back on top fgs.

That doesn't take a lot of working out though. He was, maybe still is, a shareholder in Stretford's company and it cost him his job with the Independent a few years ago.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:00 pmNixon gets all his info from agents.
Derby fans worked out all his info was coming from Stretford on the Derby saga (Rooneys agent)

He's probably the only rumours journo out there, but he weirdly celebrates being the first to break u23s signing for Bolton.

Agents represent players and clubs, so are close to what's going on, so not a bad source of information, though I appreciate some of the info will be leaked for a reason.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 4:06 pmHe had inside contacts at Burnley when Coyle was here and at the time he posted all his rumours on a Blackburn message board.

O'Hare would be a great signing....as long as he's Cornet's replacement - not McNeil's. O'Hare has been good to watch for the last couple of seasons whenever Coventry have been on the tv. O'Hare, McNeil and Twine would be some incredible creative talent at that level.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Surprised Muleka is choosing Turkey over England, dogshite league, awful standard, albeit with a few big clubs. Apparently they offered more in wages £16,000 a week. I guess we are financially fooked. We need a main striker, good luck getting a good un for less than £16,000 a week and with peanuts for a transfer fee.
Every player linked is just cheap tatt, re-invest some money from eventual sales and lets go for promotion. Wasting our time shopping in poundland trying to uncover the next Kante and Mahrez with our promotion chances banked on that.
