Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We need players that want to be here.
Every player is a gamble, but Muleka would have been a big one. The Turkish league isn't the championship, and he'd struggled in the Belgian league, plus Standard don't seem particularly bothered where he goes, so long as he goes.
I'm sure VK saw something in him, and you have to trust the manager. Let's hope the next one gives more hope.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We're likely gonna sell Collins and Cornet for close to £50m and replace them with cheap hopefuls from the charity shop. We might end up with 10 incoming at this rate all under £10m total. We need some proper quality, a proper goalscorer, not cheap budget options and hope.

The Tark interview said it wasn't about money though, say one thing then do another, get called out. “ guess we are financially fooked”
“ Every player linked is just cheap tatt”
“ Wasting our time shopping in poundland ”
Utter drivel, looking for a reaction.

Glad Bastien is signing. Sounds like he’s quite technical and dynamic. If we can get Cullen too that would be 4 very good midfield options.

Glad the Muleka move is off, he looked light weight and would struggle settling in
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Go get O'Hare to replace Cornet and use some of the Collins money on a proper striker and I'll believe we're going for promotion. Replacing PL players with hopefuls from League One and loan players doesn't quite get the juices flowing and screams budget cuts and stripping value from the squad with no regards for the quality remaining.

It’s really boring and goes against the grain of this message board, but I’ve a absolutely no idea how good any of the signings are going to be, particularly those from abroad.
Saw Twine a few times and he looks a decent talent. Never seen the other three play. Never seen Bastien either.
It’s ok not to have an opinion or prediction.

Yes, hard to know. If it’s wages, I’d be disappointed given the savings we’ve made elsewhere, but also pleased we have not been held to ransom. If its WP, I’m shocked we’d progress a move so far to get it rejected.
Either way, I do sense our approach is now very different since Orsic and we have a list of targets and are not prepared to get bogged down with long running deals - which is a good step forward.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
That's a pretty fair summary in my view, Twine is one who should be able to make the step up relatively easy, but exciting as it is to be finally signing youth, there is always an element of doubt in any signings, however more so when we are undertaking such a radical overhaul in management and also the playing squad.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 6:07 pmIt’s really boring and goes against the grain of this message board, but I’ve a absolutely no idea how good any of the signings are going to be, particularly those from abroad.

How quickly will they gel if at all, and equally how quickly will they adapt to what Kompany's system and tactics will demand of them, the truth is nobody has any idea, and this is where the fanbase might need to display patience, not a quality Burnley fans are normally renowned for.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Also though Tiger, Kompany needs to gradually implement his tactics and style. Confidence has a massive part in football/sport & the best environment for him to embed his system is in a winning team. At our core we have a decent PL team who would almost certainly have stayed up had we played Cork and the ball on the floor more. That core needs to start the season with some of Vincent’s philosophies in play but the rest (along with his signings) slowly introduced.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 7:45 pmHow quickly will they gel if at all, and equally how quickly will they adapt to what Kompany's system and tactics will demand of them, the truth is nobody has any idea, and this is where the fanbase might need to display patience, not a quality Burnley fans are normally renowned for.

Totally agree with that statement. There’s numerous times after the matches finished last season, where I found myself finding it hard to believe we’ve lost/drawn the match, and apart from a mad 10/20mins we were more than a match for most teams.

Maybe it's time to move on from Man City signings. Yes Kompany was a City legend and it's exciting that we have young players in from that club but I'd like our club to leave it at that now.

Plenty of sources in Belgium are claiming that Jackson Bastien deal is complete.
Looks a very shrewd signing, West Ham tried to sign him for 11m almost a year ago.

Surely better to sign players who the manager has trained with and seen at first hand and would also be aware of any problems they may have
rather than take a shot in the dark.

I’m sure it won’t be much but he’s the current Welsh number 1, on the back of some great performances for them. His experience would have been great for us this year.
I’d be amazed if it’s 7 figures.
