England v Wales
Re: England v Wales
Why the hell did Wales get a free kick when two of their own defenders collided with each other?
Re: England v Wales
Foden has been lively. Rashford less so.

Re: England v Wales
It’s all about the pace. No pace = KRBFC thinking we’re world beaters. Pace = potential to actually be world beaters.
Re: England v Wales
Sharp, snappy football, need a bit of patience against park the bus but it'll come.
Re: England v Wales
You only have to compare the Burnley of this season to last season.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:41 pmIt’s all about the pace. No pace = KRBFC thinking we’re world beaters. Pace = potential to actually be world beaters.
Re: England v Wales
It's called patience, something you should have learnt from watching Kompany football.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:41 pmIt’s all about the pace. No pace = KRBFC thinking we’re world beaters. Pace = potential to actually be world beaters.

Re: England v Wales
Not quite. We could pass it about the back 4 all night, have 80% possession, and get no where near to scoring. It’s still patient.
2 pacey attacks in 2 minutes showed how we should be playing.
Edit - earlier we passed it from the edge of their box back to the edge of ours. That’s patient. And also negative.

Nothing at all coming off for him. Having said that there's been no decent final ball from anyone
Re: England v Wales
Get Ashley Barnes on.
Re: England v Wales
Kane's final through ball to Rashford led to our best and a clear chance.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:48 pmNothing at all coming off for him. Having said that there's been no decent final ball from anyone

Re: England v Wales
Yes, that was a good pass by Kane, however it's been the only real incident of note in the 1st half.
Surely Wales have to gamble at some stage as they must win the game. And that should open up the space for England to play as the 2nd half wears on.
England still topping the group so no panic, but the performance still lacks a spark for me.

Re: England v Wales
watching both games.... why didn't that USA "offside" goal at the end of the half go to VAR? looked on to me
Re: England v Wales
Need Grealish on now. Henderson off.
Re: England v Wales
Wasn't the only good play. Excellent passing move which ended in Foden's shot.tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:54 pmYes, that was a good pass by Kane, however it's been the only real incident of note in the 1st half.

Re: England v Wales
Good first half, controlled the game, passed it well and created a few openings. If we can make the dominance count as Wales start to tire then I can see this being a comfortable win.
If it gets to 70 mins and its still 0-0 then I'll start to be critical but till then it all looks good to me

Re: England v Wales
The Welsh putting every man behind the ball when needing to win (now by four) in what will probably be their last ever World Cup game (no replacements coming through for Bale and Ramsey) is pretty awful from Page.
I guess his plan is to shithouse a set piece goal 1-0, but in the circumstances would they not rather go out in a high scoring game having left everything out on the pitch, rather than this?

Re: England v Wales
This is so poor from England. The excuse given against USA was that we came up against an athletic team. Wales resembling dustbins with Bale and Ramsay on testimonials. What's the excuse this time ?
Totally uninspiring performance by England and no surprise to many of us. Rashford and Henderson ? Someone's got an agenda with the FA I suspect.
