QPR Pubs
Can anyone recommend somewhere to meet prior to the game on Sunday please? Doesn’t look like there are many options locally, but we’d like to meet somewhere within walking distance if possible, as it’s going to be fairly late when we get there. Cheers
Re: QPR Pubs
There are pubs around Shepherds Bush but they tend to be home fans only. You may get in without colours.
Re: QPR Pubs
Used to be good around Shepherds Bush, as Leisure points out they aren't keen on away fans these days.

Re: QPR Pubs
Last time we went in a bar opposite shepards Bush Station called Belushi's and I think the central bar wetherspoons upstairs above it might allow fans in. Sure I got a ticket from leisure in one of the pubs in the SW corner of the green.
If you had time there are loads of pubs around Hammersmith.

That's the best info. Only 15-20 mins walk.Loyalclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 6:42 pm

Re: QPR Pubs
Aye- Hammersmith is a better place to drink for an hour or two then up to Shepherds Bush Market on the tube. If you've only got half an hour for a "quick one" very locally, I've found that Belushis OK before (and with Clarets supporters ibn there).

Re: QPR Pubs
Only ever been once when we played Fulham there in the cup.
We drank in the Springbok pub as we got there early.
I presume it will be a home pub for QPR though.

Re: QPR Pubs
I've always found it weird how strict the pubs around QPR are for home fans only. Pretty much nowhere to go apart from Belushi's last time.

Re: QPR Pubs
We’re getting off at White City, plenty of boozers round there normally.
Re: QPR Pubs
Last time I went was no bother getting in anywhere around Shepherds Bush. It's probably an overreaction to a little bit of trouble at some point.

I’m going back a few years now however used to get a beer on the Uxbridge Rd, having looked on Google it might be the Coningham Arms, 5 or 10 minute walk from the away end away from Shepherds Bush. Would have been the Stan years so no idea if they will let you in.

Re: QPR Pubs
Doorman on the doors of the local pubs will ask to see your ticket to make sure you are in the home stands.QPR fans won't be botherd unless you turn up in a Luton Town shirt..
Re: QPR Pubs
The Wetherspoons across from Shepherds Bush station wouldn't let us in last time we were there and there were only 2 of us.
The doormen were asking to see match tickets.

Last time I was there I went to The Green on Shepherds Bush Green before and after the game. You can also book a place there to watch the England match later

Re: QPR Pubs
I can remember in 2008 the QPR fans were so happy we’d beaten Chelsea in the cup midweek they dragged me into one of their locals and bought me a few pints to celebrate. 90 minutes later after a tense and angry 2-1 win I didn’t reciprocate after the final whistle but made a quick exit!

We took over the main QPR pub in 1972-73. Real mob in there.

Re: QPR Pubs
The Wetherspoons above the shopping centre will let you in, or should I say the bouncers will as long as you are not wearing colours. I have been in there on two previous visits to Loftus Road and on both occasions ended up walking to the match with QPR fans who I/we got talking to in the Wetherspoons.
Re: QPR Pubs
When we went in 2014 everywhere (including the Wetherspoons) except the Belushis was home fans only, needing a home ticket to get in. Think they were a bit more relaxed in 2015 but still a few that were strict.

Re: QPR Pubs
As posted above, The Springbok is the boozer I have been to and most away fans I have ever spoken to about QPR say that's where they have been, so is that not the designated away fans pub?
Admittedly when we played Fulham there in the FA Cup it wasn't a 'home' game for either team but we quite literally took that pub, and the precinct outside, over!!!

Defectors Weld is a decent pub if you can manage to keep your head down and get in.

Re: QPR Pubs
Yesterday The Green Shepherds Bush cancelled my booking and returned deposit because company policy does not allow under 18’s after 7:30 which does not work when England game kick off is 7pm and you have two fourteen year olds with you. No alternatives suggested or offered by the management just an admission that it was a fault on the online booking system.
Any alternative venues suggested by locals or those in the know ?

Re: QPR Pubs
The away supporters only bar is called Belushis, 13-15 Shepherds Bush Green W12 8PH. It's a 20 minute walk to the ground from there. There are 2 kiosks in the away end where supporters can purchase a wide range of alcohol and soft drinks plus food.
Re: QPR Pubs
I started a thread call England game in London. There was one response with lots of pubs in the area. Have a look at that.

Don't care about the pubs, I'm just hopeful the chippy is open on a Sunday. Otherwise it's stadium pies for dinner
