City v Arsenal
Plenty of changes for the visitors, and a lively start by both sides despite it still being 0-0.

What's the chance that VK is watching this ?
Re: City v Arsenal
When I watch Premier League games, can we pass it around as well as them?
These are the 2 best teams in the Premier League and we aren't a million miles off.

Re: City v Arsenal
Both managers looked pretty pis-sed off with the pre match interviews.
TBF there were a lot of stupid questions posed to each of them and it went on far too long.
Gabriel Clarke has got this annoying style where he tries to be matey with everyone - Pep and Arteta not interested !

Arsenal reminds me more of Burnley than City do now.
Re: City v Arsenal
Us and Arsenal are both junior so I guess it makes sense.

Re: City v Arsenal
Same. Youth, wingers who beat players one on one and generally more pace to the attacks. City gone very slow and less direct on the wings.
Re: City v Arsenal
I know, but I think we're better than a lot of Prem sides.ClaretCliff wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:23 pmWell the City keeper is nowhere near as good as Muric when it comes to passing

Get peed off with Artetas shithousery. Whoevers throw in it is he throws the ball to a gooner, when they throw it back to him he side steps it. As City go to throw it he crowds them. He needs putting in the stand.
Re: City v Arsenal
Yes. Matterface is very annoying. Big Chelsea fan and he's mentioned them.

It would be interesting if they threw in points for that. Act like a tit and you get 2 points for the win instead of 3.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:29 pmGet peed off with Artetas shithousery. Rob Holding is certainly well named. I am sure Haaland would rather exchange shirts after the match.

Re: City v Arsenal
Coming up to half time , 0 - 0, Arsenal giving City the run around, feeling more and more like a Burnley game.
I'm going to go for a 0 - 3 to Arsenal second half.

Dixon’s memory is faulty. It was Frank Casper who gave him his debut for Burnley not Miller.

Re: City v Arsenal
If anyone deserves a bit of belated recognition that man is Brian Miller.
A giant and monster of a player in that wonderful half-back line of Adamson, Cummings and Miller.
And the most humble of men.

In the Prem, it would definately make MOTD if each individual in the Burnley crowd held up a paddle displaying 10 whenever an opponent takes a dive.

Suspect both league games between the two will be the same with City crushing to victory.

Not sure I'd class tonight as a cruise, and Arsenal rotated some of their regulars yet still pushed City all the way.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:55 pmSuspect both league games between the two will be the same with City crushing to victory.
Of course that Coty victory means we could draw then next round if we as expected beat Ipswich.

Indeed. It's great what we're doing at Championship level, but the PL is a different matter.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:35 pmWatch our game v United, we’re good but there’s levels to it.
Against bottom half teams we'll probably hold our own quite well, Bournemouth for example, against the top half, think ManU, we will learn the areas we need to improve.
Main issue for me is that AP can satisfy VK's ambition.

Rarely look like scoring Arsenal. City turned up and did what had to be done.

Re: City v Arsenal
ITV coverage is just so poor.
Gabriel Clarke on now winding both managers up no doubt.
Think Arsenal looked good and don’t think City were cruising. Arsenal looked best team in first half and also came good again when Martinelli came on. City keeper played well.
Would not be surprised at all if Arsenal beat them in the league - will be more intense and they will have full team out.
